This is easy to repair. The joystick is actually a hardware component under the case, and there's a plastic on top plug into it, that's the one you interact with when you play. You just need to replace that plastic cover.
so how do i replace that?
You have to disassemble the controller.
No, Doop was right. You have to open up the outer casing, then pop that one out, pop a new one in.
