Hi
Lately I have been noticing that my kart in mariokart 8 deluxe has been driving to the right even though I’m pointing straight.
I checked for updates and went to recalibrate but it said it is straight.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

JOY-CON DRIFT INFORMATION

Joy-con drift is an issue when your joystick registers different inputs than what you intend to do. The primary cause is dirt getting inside the joystick's casing, or the contacts got worn out through usage. You can check out a brief analysis by u/rainbopython. This issue is more common with older Switch. Newer Switch and Switch Lite are equipped with a better joystick that may reduce the risk of drifting. However, Switch Lite's joystick suffers from an entirely different dead zone issue.

To test your joy-con for drifting symptoms:

From Home Screen > System Settings ⚙️ > Controllers and Sensors > Calibrate Control Sticks. On the next screen, do not initiate Calibration by pressing Ⓧ. Instead, use this feature to observe your joystick's movement in all eight directions (Left, Right, Up, Down, and 4 Diagonal directions). Move the joystick slowly to see the issue clearer.

You can compare to these cases:
Nintendo Switch heavy drifting case.
Nintendo Switch Lite dead zone case.

※ Note: Nintendo is willing to repair joystick drifting for free in almost all regions, regardless of warranty. For NA, please click here. For other regions, please contact your regional Nintendo support service.
