The light is very faint, and if only happens when pressing the sync button. Happened literally out of nowhere. It was working, I put the switch on to charge, and then it was broken.

if you press the main buttons does it connect to the switch? if so the ribbion cable to the sl/sr has either broken or your joycons have been heavily abused. i see paint wear on the connector to dock it to the switch.

Just a regular case of that ribbon board being broken. Happens way too often.
Sometime it needs a re-insert of the connector, sometime it's broken for real and need replacement.

This thing can dislodge itself just from the vibration of the controller.

Rip. Thanks for letting me know how it happened, haha. The locks broke about a week into getting this pair of joycons, so they would constantly slide around, likely causing the wear and tear.
