I need some infos on what equipment to get if i want to be able to listend to my games while chatting on discord. From what i understand i need a 3.5 mm jack with male on both ends, in my case since i use a laptom i'll also need a DAC to convert the signal to in line microphone on the pc and something called "ground loop" or something to eliminate the static noise i could hear. anything else?
does the cable have to be the one that supports also microphones (3 bands on the jack)?

MERGE SWITCH AND PC'S AUDIO
§ You can merge your Switch's and PC's audio and output it into a single set of speakers or headphone. It can allow you to listen to games' audio while chatting on Discord.
• Instructions:
・ Use a 3.5mm audio cable to connect an audio output from your Switch to one of the Line-in ports on your PC.
・ Then setup (Windows): Sound settings > Recording tab > Select your Line-in port > Listen tab > Check "Listen to this device".
・ The audio output from your Switch can be the 3.5mm port on the Switch itself or from the 3.5mm port on your monitor/TV, which takes the audio from HDMI signal.
※ Note:
・ You may encounter ground loop noise. To fix this, connect a ground loop noise isolator.
・ If your TV/monitor has a 3.5mm audio output, you can also connect from there, as they take audio from HDMI. It may reduce static noise.
noise/). To fix this, connect a ground loop noise isolator.
・ Thanks to firmware 13.0, there is an alternative method by connecting your PC to the Switch via Bluetooth, then use an this software to direct the audio.
I already know the bluetooth route but for some reason the pc just won't connect. That's why I'm going with the wired way
So my list is correct then
Tbh that Bluetooth method doesn't work that well
I just include it in there because it's a possibility
Maybe someone can use it temporary
I'm currently using the 3.5mm audio output from monitor
The ground loop denoiser is technically not a DAC and it should be very cheap to get.
But do test the output from your monitor first, sometime it produces no noise at all.
I mentioned the dac since having a laptop means i get only a single 3.5 mm female jack output. A dac converts an usb port to an audio output and a mic input wich is what will be used as in line mic to listen to the games
I see
i got the cable but the audio seems very wonky. goes from muffled to alright continuously. I need the ground loop? i know that it's needed if you hear static but i don't know anything about mesed up audio levels
this if i connect it in portable mode, from the dock it still has the problem AND the static buzz
static buzz is the noise from ground loop.
not sure about the "wonky" quality
idk how to explain it.
sounds very "2008 yt video" like
but the cable should be good, and the DAC is a logitech one from my old headphones which i used until yesterday
this is what i mean
the audio gets muffled shortly after getting maxed or playing
this was connected from the TV jack to the pc, no static.
the audio issue happens wether is from the yv, dock or portable mode
I think your DAC isn't working well, try testing it with a different USB DAC
