I put some WD-40 contact cleaner on my joystick to clean off the dust to remove joycon drift but it ended uo making my joystick a little sticky and is harder to push around. Is this normal?

Contact cleaner is for cleaning contacts, not for lubricating. You likely have ruined the joystick.

Stop using joycons, i have had the pro controller for about since it came out and it hasnt drifted once. The joycons are crappy quality for a high price and i dont recomend them unless you are actually going to care for them.

There is no “instead”. You have to replace the joysticks now.

is it hard?

Okay. You should be able to find new joysticks on eBay or Amazon.

I'm not sure why it made your joystick sticky, how much did you use?

#

Just need one tiny spray

#

and it will evaporate right after

because the drift kept on coming back after 5 minutes

#

but i think I'll just replace the joystick

#

it's not a difficult task

Normally, you only need to do it once, if it came back right after, then cleaning further won't help
