I bought a new / old TV and wanted to connect my switch but no picture is displayed. With my TV, which I normally use, everything works perfectly. What can be the problem and how can I fix it?

Is the green light on your Switch dock lit?

I've also tried a different cable to a different port and unplugged everything else

🐵 MONKEY MAGIC METHOD 🐒

Important: Follow these steps in exact order

  1. Unplug all the cables (HDMI, AC Power Adapter) and remove the Switch from dock.
  2. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall socket.
  3. Turn off the TV/Monitor.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Connect your AC adapter cable to the dock.
  6. Connect your AC adapter to the wall outlet.
  7. Connect your HDMI cable to the dock.
  8. Connect your HDMI cable to the TV/Monitor.
  9. Dock your Switch.
  10. Turn on TV/Monitor.

Also, if your TV has a different HDMI port, try those as well

#

and if possible, test your Switch + dock with a different TV/monitor

I've already tried everything

And please be specific, we need detailed info.

#

i can try it again

What about testing on other TV/Monitor?

severe mural
#

with a other TV it works

tall hinge
#

So the problem is with your current TV, hmm

#

btw the green light on the dock indicates it's having a solid HDMI connection

#

Do you have other devices connecting to that TV's HDMI port?

#

or any other port

severe mural
#

Nope nothing Else ist in the TV plugged

severe mural
#

yes they are working

tall hinge
#

Hmm

#

Do you happen to know that TV's resolution?

severe mural
#

1920 x 1080

tall hinge
#

there are 2 things you can try in there

#

One is to lower the resolution to lowest then test on the TV

#

The 2nd is to change the RGB setting

#

Every time you change 1 setting, test

#

Test all the available options, see if any of them make any chance on the TV

severe mural
#

i try this also

#

this is the tv

Can a TV be to old for the Switch

tall hinge
#

The Switch requires very little. 1080p is a standard for a looong while ago.

severe mural
#

The Switch and the TV are in Power stripe can this be a Problem

tall hinge
#

Plenty of people use it that way, including me. And you should do that, especially if your power strip has surge protection.

#

Have you tried doing what I have told you before?

#

Coz it's late so I'll be off

severe mural
#

okay

#

i have a last question can the HDCP be a problem ? @tall hinge

tall hinge
#

Like most content on Hulu or YouTube

#

Another thing you can test is using different applications when docking it

#

From the home screen of the Switch to a game

severe mural
#

Start a Game an then in the Dock ?

severe mural
#

Sometimes i got a Picture but idk how i Just unplug the cabel Put in in or turn TV the Off an Put it in the Dock

#

Or i Turn the TV on an Put it in the dock

#

Its really cursed

And you tested this Switch+dock combo on a different TV/monitor and it also worked there?

tall hinge
severe mural
#

No Not a Screen Form the Switch but in the source displayed NintendoSwitch

tall hinge
#

Ah I had hope

#

I don't think it will work then ><

#

There's a very low chance a TV/monitor just refuse to work with the Switch at all

#

I have been on this server for 2-3 (?) years now but I have only saw that happened twice

#

and a similar problem on a different forum

#

Just in case, have you done the entire monkey method in exact order?

severe mural
tall hinge
#

It's not a problem with the cable/port, it seems

#

If you want to go the extra mile, test a different Switch or dock on that TV

severe mural
#

Hmmm i can try it

tall hinge
#

if you are lucky then it's the dock, easy to replace
