In 0.1 IP, the D-Backs put up more runs against Kershaw than the Giants have in any of their appearances against him
The most the Giants have put up against Kershaw is 5 ER, and it's only happened twice, on September 29, 2018, and May 30, 2021. The D-Backs did something in 0.1 IP that the team I root for hasn't done in 15 years of facing this bad man.
And it's not like the Giants have faced him infrequently: he has 59 games against the Giants, the most of any team, with a career 2.01 ERA against them. The only amazing thing is that he's somehow only 26-16 against SF, in large part because he often ends up with the short end of the stick of run support against the Giants.
This guy has haunted us for years. Forgive us a bit when we Giants fans savor a Kershaw shellacking more than others. Still incredibly frustrating that he somehow has always managed to turn it up against SF.

Minnesota Twins have won a Division Series game for the first time since October 5, 2004
Coming into this game, they had lost 15 straight games in this round of the playoffs.
On Tuesday, they look to win their first ALDS home game since October 5, 2002. They currently rock an 8-game home losing streak in the Division Series.
Today's Astros loss is their second ever loss in franchise history at Minute Maid Park during the American League Division Series
It should be noted that the Astros only joined the American League in 2013, but they have played in 8 American League Division Series since that time. In the 18 years from the creation of the Division Series (1995) to the Astros last season in the NL (2012), they only played in 6 National League Division Series. So they actually have more franchise division series as an American League team than a National League team. They went 1-4 in the AstroDome and 3-3 at Minute Maid Park in NLDS games. Following today they are 13-2 in ALDS games at Minute Maid Park.
Also, the Athletics beat the Astros in 2020 ALDS Game 3 (in which the Astros were the home team). However due to the pandemic postseason, that game was played at Dodger Stadium without fans. They then won Game 4 as the home team at Dodger Stadium. That is why I qualified this as at Minute Maid Park instead of at home. Still, 14-3 in ALDS games while being the home team as a franchise is very impressive.

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed took his helmet off while on the playing field to confront officials on the thrown penalty flag. While doing so, side judge Dominique Pender (#114), told Sneed to "Put the helmet on" instead of issuing a penalty against Sneed / KC.
According to the official 2023 NFL rulebook, it is a penalty in the NFL to take off your helmet while on the field and confront a game official. The official rule is as follows:
Section 3, Article 1, Rule H
"Removal of his helmet by a player in the field of play or the end zone during a celebration or demonstration, or during a confrontation with a game official or any other player."
Regardless of this incident's impact on the outcome of the game, it is still very concerning. It is rare to see an NFL official directly acknowledge a penalty with an offending player in the moment, without throwing a flag.
It will be interesting to see if the NFL or the Referees Association issues a statement regarding this incident. With players being fined for ridiculous reasons like not wearing socks, it would be nice to see some even accountability for all NFL employees.

Comparing Brock Purdy's First 10 Starts
The Chiefs have had 10+ different players catch passes in 4 of their 5 games. In the other, 8 different players caught a pass. Their highest targeted WR is only getting 13% of their overall targets. What are some other teams with crazy pass distributions, both for this season and historically?
The 49ers are on a pace to have the Fewest Points Allowed per game of any team since 2006
Currently they have allowed 68 points in 5 games, 13.6 per.
There hasn't been a team to allow 13.6 or less ppg since the 2006 Ravens, which were 12.6 per -- also the 2005 Bears were the same. The 2008 Steelers allowed 13.9 ppg.
Other than those, the entire list of the Defenses per season with 13.9 ppg allowed or less were all 2002 or before.
The best all-time since 1978 are the 2000 Ravens at 10.3 ppg, the 1986 Bears at 11.7 and the 2000 Titans at 11.9 -- those are the only 3 that allowed less than 12 ppg.
The worst record that any team that allowed 13.9 ppg or less has achieved is 10-6, which was the record of the 1978 Broncos and the 1981 Eagles.
The Colts are 3-0 with Gardner Minshew taking the majority of snaps. They are 0-2 when Anthony Richardson takes the majority of snaps

After an electric start to Brian Daboll tenure, the NY Giants have struggled to find any consistency, going 4-7-1 to close last year including postseason and 1-4 to start this season.
Daniel Jones over this stretch has 13 touchdowns to 10 INTs (11TD’s to 4INT’s to end last season). Giants has a potential out after the 2024 NFL season for Jones but if the Giants don’t start to turn things around is there potential Brian Daboll could find himself on the hotseat by the end of this season? Giants fans, so you all believe there enough conviction in NY that Daboll can right the ship to give him time?
A lot is made of Achane's ridiculous 12.1 YPC, but if you take his longest run out from each game (76, 55, 67), he's still averaging 7.5
Pretty wild to think about. I saw those were his longest runs in each game and figured, without doing any rough math, that removing those 3 carries would probably bring his numbers down to something more pedestrian. So I opened the calculator and sure enough, with the remaining 35 carries, he's still averaging a ridiculous 7.5 yards per carry, with 262 yards on 35 carries. Absolutely insane.
The NFL finally has it's first 2-TD lines of the season this upcoming week: the Bills and Dolphins both open as 14-point home favorites over the Giants and Panthers
Between significant injuries to the Giants O-Line and Saquon being limited, and the Panthers' all around struggles, they both go into their Week 6 matchups as 2-TD road underdogs.
The only other 2-score line as of now is the Chiefs being 10.5-point home favorites over the Broncos on TNF.

In his book released earlier this year, Gibby: Tales of A Baseball Lifer, Gibbons described the challenges.
“It was truly so different for me than it had been working with (former GMs J.P. Ricciardi and Alex Anthopoulos),” Gibbons wrote. “Decisions were made, and not only was I not consulted, but they directly changed how I operated.”
In other words, the old-school managerial style had no place. Gibbons further explained that the coercion from the front office demanded a certain passive personality to fit.
