38 homers, 36 doubles, and 20 steals on the season. Absolutely amazing offensive season for Robert to complement gold glove level CF defense. He certainly has the ability, strength, and speed for a 40-40 or 30-30-30 season but has to be able to steal without getting injured and stay healthy like he has this year.

Their current bullpen includes Kyle Muller (13), Mason Miller (6), Zach Neal (2), Dany Jimenez (1), Adrian Martinez (1), and Francisco Perez (1). 12 starters, 113 games.

Their injured list includes James Kaprielian (11), Austin Pruitt (6), Drew Rucinski (4), Sean Newcomb (2), and Freddy Tarnok (1). 17 starters, 137 games.

As for the remaining 7, Shintaro Fujinami (7) and Hogan Harris (6) account for 13 of the remaining 18 games that Oakland has played. Fujinami has been traded to Baltimore, and Harris has been exiled to AAA Las Vegas.

This leaves 1 game each having been started by Sam Long, Sam Moll, Adam Oller, Tayler Scott, and Spenser Watkins. Long, Scott, and Watkins have each been demoted to AAA as well; Moll was traded to Cincinnati for current starter Joe Boyle, and Oller was lost to Seattle on waivers.

oday's win and Houston and Seattle's (likely) losses mean we only need 90 wins to clinch and our magic number drops from 7 to 4 a rare occurrence where a magic number can drop by three.

The reason being the losses now mean the multi team tiebrdak scenario where all 4 teams have 90 wins is now impossible. So the new worst case scenario is

TOR: 90-72

TEX: 90-72

HOU: 90-72

SEA: 89-73

Houston has to win all its games against Arizona, and 2 against the Seattle. Seattle will need to win the other 1 against Houston and then 4 of 4 against Texas. Texas just needs to sweep the Angels. Houston will win AL West via tiebreak with Texas. Texas will win WC2 via tiebreak with Toronto. Toronto will win WC3.

If Seattle does comeback the specific worst case scenario changes but our wins needed will not. Our magic # will still be 4.

The magic #s to be beat each team are (again assuming Texas holds on).

Earliest we can clinch is Wednesday if Houston loses on Monday and Tuesday to Seattle and we will Tuesday and Wednesday.

the official NFL record for yards is a game is 735 held by the Rams. However the game occurred in a weird two year window where sack yardage wasn’t counted against a team’s total yards. Which means that a -13 yard sack during the game didn’t count against the Rams yards which would have dropped them to 722 yards. That means while the 726 yards by the Dolphins yesterday is the most by a team in a game, it’s not the official record.

Through three games, the Browns defense has given up just one touchdown. Even more impressively, through these first 3 games, the Browns offense has given up two defensive touchdowns

Weeks 1 and 3, the Browns held their opponent to just a field goal - no TDs.

Week 2, the Browns defense only gave up one TD to the Steelers.

That same game, The Browns offense gave up a pick-6 and a scoop-n-score to the Steelers defense - two touchdowns.

Even if you include the four total field goals given up by the defense, the season point totals come down to 19 points given up by the defense, 14 points given up by the offense. That is comedically stupid.

Just like Aaron Judge who set the record last year, Acuña might be on his way to winning an MVP in a season when he was actually pretty unlucky offensively.

Barrels are a quality-of-contact metric, defined as batted balls with an expected batting average over .500 and an expected slugging percentage over 1.500 based upon exit velocity and launch angle. In other words, barrels are balls in play that go for extra base hits more than 50% of the time.

In 2020, Josh Hader lost in arbitration to the Brewers. One of the reasons cited was lack of saves. Since 2020, 174 of his 194 appearances have been in the 9th inning or later, and and only 1 of those appearances have been more than 3 outs

Hader was initially used in a fireman role form 2017-2019, recording 204.2 innings in 151 games, while having 80 multiple inning appearances. After losing in arbitration Hader was mainly used in a traditional closer role. Hader expressed enjoyment in his new role, and his performance may have gotten better (this could be for many different reasons, like routine, lighter work load, or stength of batters faced).
