play Sayonara Wild Hearts it's popheads: the game
Since it is available on my iPad I have downloaded it
Anyone else have Apple Arcade? I got a trial for free and theres actually some really good stuff on there, so that might have to be another subscription for meš
Like Fantasian is genuinely a great JRPG
I don't own any Apple products myself but you're right the catalogue is surprisingly great from the little bits I've seen
So many qol things for random encounter battles
I have so many downloaded and Iāll get around to them at some point
Got clowned on bc I was playing solitaire on my iPad in a lecture
no cause solitaire was the only arcade game i always went back to
no ads and can play it anywhere? LOVE IT
The sounds are so satisfying as well
right
No wonder its always at the top of the charts lol
yeah the 11 was the month
:ā( I cant read
also huh starfield is in 2 days
Probably read an american date and got confused
Oh lol just looked it up, hadnt even heard of it
Feel like all triple a games get a few delays now
yeah they teased 11.11.22 because its the 11th anniversary of skyrim (!!)
Surprised they didnāt find another version of skyrim to release
then they said 2023 this may
they can surprise drop that anytime
Skyrim: now available on your wardrobe
Probably wonāt get ragnarok for a year at least (need to get a ps5 first) but 2018 was a great game, so Iām not surprised this is so hyped
Waiting for that Samsung Smart Fridge release of Skyrim
Yeah, I also need a ps5
But at the same time I donāt

I think Elden Ring must have it
Most likely will, but Iāve been having a boat load of fun with ragnarok so Iād personally vote that
yea lmao. Tunic was more deserving. such a fantastic game
I know it got positive reviews (and it's probably a good game) but when Annapurna release a banger people usually don't shut up about it
case in point:
but i felt like Stray interested alot of people in a medium that's so skewed to the male audience
i could see it
I like ācat.ā as much as anyone else but it does stick out like a sore thumb in that lineup
Also I played HFW(albeit on PS4) and it was mediocre to me
Re: The previous RT, here's the Fallout 2 character sprites upscaled with an ai program filling in the blanks: https://t.co/UVdWfR2SaY
They are in order: Bouncer, Scientist, Keeper, Angela Bishop, Lynette, Leslie Bishop, Myron, Bridgekeeper, T-Ray, Tribal Man, Tribal Woman, Vic.

ai art is getting bonkers, this looks great
lol has anybody heard the grammy nominated game osts this year
I know Austin Wintory, Bear McCreary and Christopher Tin from other stuff but didn't play any of these so
would be hilarious if they gave it to Tin again
played none. but familiar with Austin Wintory's work with thatgamecompany stuff, Tooth & Tail and that one AC game with the baroque chambers
it's so different from TGAs noms, even if the cutoff window is from last to this October
my favourite soundtracks this year arent even 2022 videogames. it's Cupheads' Delicious Last Course DLC and Genshin's music from Sumeru
Played none of these.
I am vibing to the Victoria 3 soundtrack, but mostly because it's mostly Victoria 2.
WHERE TROMBONE CHAMP š š /j
it's cool that this is a new category tho, just for the vg recognition
like how last time the 8 bit big band won for their kirby arrangement
That awkward moment when you're playing Finland, who is a subject of Russia, but Russia has built no railroads, so your railroads end up making mega bucks from the transportation goods that it's selling to the Russian market.
When I declare independence, I may end up screwing Russia over, especially since I'm providing a lot of resources that their market has a deficit for.
(Victoria 3, by the way.)
Also, I'm colonizing other continents to secure resources that I'm getting from Russia, such as Sulfur and Coal. I should have enough conveys to fill in the rest. Only good I really have to look out for is Opium, since it's exclusive to only a few countries, yet it'll be pivotal for holding off the Russian military.
iconery
Interest peaked
That's on my long to-play list, although I'm more intrigued by its predecessor, Boy Problems, a heist game.
Victoria 3 update: I declared independence from Russia, curbstomped it, and took its lunch money on the way out. Opium is OP, and so is having the French.
I colonized what's left to grab and will likely make some bold moves to round out my resource base and hopefully make Finland the #1 state in the world.
Talk about playing tall.
Okay, I think I reached a good conclusion with my Finnish playthrough.
Now I'm doing an USA playthrough. Abraham Lincoln ended up being elected 20 years earlier, and slavery was abolished legislatively without a Civil War. Too easy.
I'm also playing with a fan patch that fixed a couple of the biggest problems with playing America, including the expedition mechanic being borked.
I may replay with one of the several America overhauls already released.
Thatās a funny sentence out of context
Welcome to Paradox Games, enjoy your stay
And also the political party system acts weirdly with the USA in Victoria 3. Both the Democratic and Whig parties dissolved and the Republican Party never formed. (The Whig Party is supposed to transform into the Republican Party, but Lincoln becoming a Whig likely short wired that.)
Now it's a three-way between three minor parties which will certainly be different next election. I'm already gonna have to reform the government because the reactionary Petit Bourgeois (the remnants of the radical Progressive Party) and the moderate Trade Union (briefly socialist before their leader retired) don't agree on anything.
Ironically, the most viable coalition may be the Trade Union with the Free-Trade Party (Industrialists) because both parties support Poor Laws.
I think what happened is that interest groups--which comprise political parties--have a threshold they have to meet in order to join a political party. At one point, the linchpin groups of the Democrats and the Whigs fell out of eligibility for their own parties, which meant that the parties were no longer valid under Paradox's programming.
Fun fact: one of the interest groups, the Rural Folks, have a unique condition for joining the Conservative/Democratic Party: "Leader is Andrew Jackson."
I may also play with a couple of mods next time that overhaul the political party conditions.
Oh, one more thing:
Because of a randomly generated gold rush, South Dakota has almost a million people and is the most populous state in the Great Plains.
pokemon s/v is fun
Iāve heard itās a bit of a beautiful disaster
yeah the performance isnāt great
I'm now modding Victoria 3.
I call this one the Later Abraham.
Other mods already do this, but it's satisfying modding the game so Abraham doesn't become president before he's 35.
I may need to rejiggle this though because it's a balance between getting him to appear most of the time in a reasonable timeframe--and him not appearing at all.
Also I'm gonna test out making a localization mod for another mod to fix its typos.

It's funny how Victoria 3 helps me understand national debt better.
My gameplay has gotten better once I realized the ramifications, such as the national credit limit being tied to your buildings' cash reserves and that interest payments are paid to your buildings' owners.
Therefore, it's viable (and often optimal) to run a deficit but grow your buildings' cash reserves so that your credit limit out-chases your debt, all while giving your people more money via interest.
Of course, the problem then becomes that you have to keep on growing. And then Marx laughs.

I may be getting the new god of war game for christmas on the ps4, hope it runs okay
I canāt help spoiling myself on every piece of media I consume so I roughly know the plot beats I think
||Iām not surprised Freya ends up helping them again, thatās kinda what i thought would happen tbh||
Also Iām trying to catch up on the ds fire emblem games
It runs, but your ps4 will be putting up a fight needless to say
Damn, this maybe the straw that breaks the camels back
it already makes whirring noises at startup due to how much my cat jumped on it in the past
For my Persia playthrough, I'm playing with an AI war and diplomacy mod, and this is what happened to Austria.
Among Us added trading cards on Steam, which I received retroactively.
It included one foil that went for 18 cents. Not a lot but still worth selling.
move over elder ring and god of war 1.5. whole lotta red is in the new nfs unbound game. bow down to the king

Victoria 3 wiped out the rest of my budget.
As long as you had fun
my backlog on steam is so large that I just prohibited myself from buying more
Reasonable
I mean that is terrifying
i kinda want to get 2 remake and threemake but am a bit of a pussy, is it v scary or do you think its manageable
like iāve played last of us 1 and 2, and bioshock but I got too freaked out to complete prey
I donāt know if Iāll actually be able to play them tbh
2 remake is definitely scarier than 3, as it is more survival horror by comparison.
Thereās a few jumpscares and gorey moments but I suppose they donāt bother me as much
3 remake has much less scary moments and is also the shorter game, more action based
Iād give 3 a try first, theyāre more or less in the same exact timeline and 3 is the easier game for a first timer
Ok thanks, Iāll defo try out 3 first!
You know where to find me š«”
play SIGNALIS. its on gamepass
Game's kinda directionless so far as well, but some of the weapons are cool and combat isn't too bad
yeah NFS Unbound soundtrack is really good. really like the hip-hop selection going for international and linguistic diversity + whole lotta red
@full star Happy Birthday!
thank u!!
does anyone have any recs for any fun streamers that do simulators? like farming sim?
idk why but it's such a comfort watch altho everyone i've found so far is extremely dry and serious
haven't been able to find a single female streamer either but also idk how best to look because google gets flooded with promoted videos
I donāt know any by name, but I do know Twitchās search is pretty good for this (on PC only afaik)
Itāll first ask you the game category/genre. Just put in simulation or something of the like and you click on the game youāre interested in. Then from there you can put in more filter words like āfemaleā or āFrenchā or whatever it is you want and most streamers will have some specific tags
Today, Paradox released the first major patch for Victoria 3, 1.1.0. It's been nice playing with it so far, but it's been a bit of the ride seeing the player reactions.
Two things that stick out: there's one major bug that emerged from one of the devs mistyping a value. Probably gonna be hotfixed this week--and there's already a couple of modded fixes for it--but it's nevertheless amusing to see such a minor error slip through.
The less fun discourse is that the devs also patched an exploit that allowed the player to instantly teleport their armies, and a lot of people are salty about this fix because they saw it as a way to work with the currently janky war system.
So the TGA players voice has been the most funniest thing than the actual awards. Ended up with Sonic fans beefing with the Genshin fandom lol
Sonic fans seem to have this blindspot about how big that game is with its mobile scalability and cybercafe inclusivity that made it massive in Asia
and didnt realize they essentially picked a fight with a massive kpop fandom lmao
I saw LOL

3/10. Definitely the worst game Iāve played in 2022
Dwarf Fortress was released on Steam yesterday, and it has already sold 160k units in 24 hours. https://twitter.com/tanyaxshort/status/1600492945345597441?s=46&t=mBNyPqB_HsXHloUzSiiLww

oooo thank you. i didn't even think of twitch tbf i was just searching youtube
The Game Awards are going on right now. I'm only tuning in for Valve's Steam Deck giveaway.
First news that excited me: Hades 2 was announced.
Oh, and Hozier is performing.
o lol i was literally just playing Hades
||got my ass kicked by him too
||
Im surprised theyāre releasing a sequel
but i guess the game was super popular
It's likely their most successful release by far.
were there any details on it or just that there will be a sequel
Iāve never played Hades but I know so many friends that fangirl over it
Looks pretty cool
DeeJay in SF6 looks so hype though
Omg, Paramore's "The News" played as one of the presenters walked on.
Lol, they probably selected that as her entrance music like yesterday
Also I'm not gonna win a deck with 200k+ people watching.
Rooting for you
God of War farming
Elden Ring won GOTY and some shitter interrupted their acceptance speech and said some dumb Bill Clinton meme mumbo jumbo
we went from "bill clinton" to "oh the kid got arrested" to "oh the dude was on infowars and is a groyper" in TWO MINUTES that is fucking insane
Sounds about right
Itās missing God of War
that's probably under ROBBED
Definitely stole the OST one LOL
yeah, good composer apparently not his best work. Cuphead DLC and TMNT: Shredders revenge was probably my favs of this year
but the real winners should have been NFS: Unbound for having WLR or Trombone Champ

trying to beat ||lingering will|| in kh2 and omg its not going well. š i hate that attack where they steal away half your abilities so much
i am determined now, iāve got most of the achievments, its basically that and a few hades paradox cups
iām just gonna get it some random time when i get lucky with rng but w/e
I only know the cheesey speedrun method LOL it's been awhile since I've seen the actual fight
i literally tried that and i couldnt do it
so i am doing it the real way
basically just tanking all the hits and hoping i get lucky
It's December! And that means Christmas Lazy Game Reviews. Or at least a pursuit of holiday games to cover, which this time are found deep within the bowels of the Steam Store. Are there are any free seasonal gaming gifts to be found on Valve's digital storefront? I don't know, but I have nog so let's find out!

Epic Games Winter Sale is on: https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/browse
They're using the 25% off coupons instead of the $10 ones. End of an era, but the $10 ones were never meant to last anyway.
That's how these businesses work: operate at a loss initially to attract customers into the ecosystem, then phase out those deals after you're established.
At least Epic has plenty of competition.
I'm also trying out the Steam free weekend for Assassin's Crees: Valhalla. It's nice to have the specs up above medium, although it's janky to have the Steam version boot up via Ubi Connect.

I really want to play Flying Circus some day, and I'm not even a tank or planes guy.
Currently a lot of buzz in the TTRPG sphere about Dungeons & Dragons and the future of Hasbro's third-party license for it, the OGL. https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1410-ogls-srds-one-d-d
re: this statement, I'll believe it when I see it when OGL 1.1 is released.
The Wicked Whims mod for The Sims 4 released a major update today. Won't link it here because of NSFW images (and descriptions!), but wow is it ambitious!
Turbodriver and collaborators overhauled a few technical systems, fixed some bugs, and threw in a banquet of new features.
Insane
It appears WW hasn't had a major update since June, but it looks like it's worth the wait
(Public release, that is. The Patreon release is ahead a major version.)
I restarted Hades a couple days ago and I'm already at ||Elysium||, thanks to the Cursed Slash boon.
However, it's indeed the ultimate crutch: low health max + regen on every regular attack is powerful in the early run, but it was also my doom when the enemies became powerful enough to 2 hit me.
the winter sale is up š
Bayonetta 3 is awesome. that is all.
but yea, it's just really hurting that such combat engine, expressive animation work and storyboarding is stuck on nintendo hardware.
Astral Chain.exe
Update on Hades: I've reached the final boss two times now, which was the furthest I've gotten in my first playthrough. Hopefully this time I'll clinch it and reach the first ending.
Also, ||Demeter's|| cast boon is a whole different kind of power, geez.
Today's free game from the Epic Games Store is Death Stranding. It's obviously the most hype giveaway of the Epic winter sale, considering that their site has been borked all morning. https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/death-stranding
While the order screen threw an error, I was still able to redeem this.
TBH, I don't even know the genre of this game, just its reputation.
it's a strand-type game
Got ragnorok for christmas.. lets see how it runs on ps4
its on two discs, Iām a bit scared
Praying for safety š
I defeated the final boss in Hades!
Nice work
Thank you!
Howād you like the game overall?
Love the characters and story; game is very hard, of course, but the game loop makes the difficulty worth it.
And I've reached the credits in Hades ||after completing my tenth successful run||. I may play some more but I'm comfortable marking this one as finished, even though there's still a lot of storylines to play through.
There's usually music signaling when he's near, but of course, with my luck, it glitched
Here's my Steam Replay.
mine was just monster hunter rise and oxygen not included lol
gamepass and switch took most of my playtime
Fair: I also played on other launchers.
i picked up fe3h again
i am very bad at this game
I need to do golden deer at some point
The good thing about 3 houses is the rewind feature, bc I cannot take losing characters
All the other fire emblems I have to like reload constantly lol
ugh yeah. the classic fe experience. divine pulse is great just as a quality of life thing, not just an aide for a Filthy Casual such as myself

azure moon final chapter is v hard :(
going for a platinum trophy run in kingdom hearts birth by sleep
which is basically just farm a shitton
I can kinda listen to rates tho so thats an upside
I'm glad that the PC version of the original Assassin's Creed doesn't come with achievements because I don't want to even be tempted to collect all of the flags.
The reactions to this range from confusion to panic.
In lighter news, I just finished the original Assassin's Creed, and I'm immediately starting the next one because I have a free copy.
I tried playing the one set in the French revolution (forgot what its called) and I just found it so boring, I didnt get far
Also Iām terrible at stealth
I only played the one in Istanbul
Anyone here playing Total War: Warhammer II?
I've played the Total War series, but not any Warhammer stuff
I see. I used to be quite disinterested in TW franchise as it didnāt seem like my cup of tea, but the Mandaloregaming reviews sold me on TWW haha
I might eventually buy Shogun II albeit with the aim of installing LotR mod on it
Thoroughly enjoyed Rome 2's campaigns though I really have no interest in the pvp, which a lot of the playerbase seems to be more interested in(?)
yeah i have both Total War: Warhammer 1/2. It's the sandboxy mortal empires mode are what people are playing the most. It just puts you on an established map with alot of conflict and events based on the Warhammer fiction that gives that extra context for the tactical battles

Greetings!
Weāre all back, gathered from the holidays, and ready to set sail for 2023! Actually, most of us have been back for a few weeks by this point, working away on this year's big release, but we're not going to be talking about that just...
All three themes entice me, but I'm inclined to vote for Wards & Wardens, even if it's just because childhood gameplay is currently scant compared to the other two themes.
It's hard to overestimate how important Wizards of the Coast is to Hasbro. According to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence, it accounts for just 22% of Hasbro's annual revenue -- but produces a staggering 72% of Hasbro's profit.
Wild how one of the biggest toy companies is being carried by Magic the Gathering and D&D.

Hello and welcome to another Victoria 3 dev diary! Todayās diary marks the start of dev diaries about Patch 1.2, which is the next major upcoming patch for Victoria 3 (release date to be announced). As with 1.1, 1.2 will contain a slate of bug...
everybody in my golden deer run is critting pretty much every turn (nice) but nobody can dodge for shit (not so nice). i'm getting got when the enemy has a 27% hit rate
thats always so frustrating
and also i play with permadeath on but cant take it when any units dieš
same but i usually don't have the option, i have to restart no matter what cause it's my byleth of all units that can't dodge
A Statement for Limithron LLC
It has come to my attention that one of the creatures in Pirate Borg is potentially triggering and can be interpreted as racist. Upon receiving and reviewing this news, I 100% agree and I am deeply sorry for any harm this may have caused and am frankly appalled that I didnāt realize it before going to print.
One o...
This is the second time in a year's time that there's been a TTRPG monkey racism controversy, but I'm glad the author is remedying this situation.
I do understand where things went wrong, but the illustration that's second to the left it's rather...unfortunate.
Keep in mind this version is already edited from the previous name, ||The Rope Monkey||. It may be innocuous in historical context, but the appearance of said zombie is questionable.
Yeah been playing Fire Emblem Engage and my Alear got crit with a 4% chance on top of the 73% chance to evade lol.
but alot of game psychology is what makes the games both frustrating and thrilling. with like negativity bias, near misses and the added pressure of permanently losing an anime character that you kinda have a parasocial care towards or invested XP into.
Is that the same Fire Emblem game with a grooming controversy?
I heard the English localization team got rid of the implications, but still
i would have to do some more googling but the weeaboo pedophiles complaining about not being able to marry a child in the english localization and """censorship""" MIGHT be misrepresenting what happened in the original japanese as they are wont to do. some people claim that what actually happened was that the child character says they want to marry the MC in the way that young kids do
yeah unfortunately. fire emblem or its developer was always sus about certain things. like there was incest in the SNES titles, roy was quite racist. advance wars treats war as this fun challenge and always makes me wonder if Nintendo were just hesitant to localize their games for those reasons beyond just turn based strategy games not being popular back then compared to now.
but the character in question was a commonly reoccurring character that's always been depicted as a young adult in previous games. just a child now in this one
but yea smarshall. those same people claiming censorship are the types that will blame the existence of positive same sex relationships in the game towards woke reviewers and move the goalposts; even though the original JP version is more overt about how queer the game can be lol
oh shit somehow i missed that this character is this game's iteration of anna, yeah that's beyond bizarre to make her a kid for no reason
This is big D&D news.
The industry has been holding its breath over whether Wizards of the Coast would screw over (most if?) their competition, and Wizards backed down.
Now for some Kickstarter drama: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/itbboardgames/alba-an-open-world-adventure-book/posts/3718452
Peter still owes his employees wages, missing pension and redundancy.
EA held a Sims 4 livestream today. They previewed more of "Project Rene" (the next Sims game), teased the next expansion, and announced a release date for the infants update (March 14th). https://simscommunity.info/2023/01/31/watch-live-behind-the-sims-livestream/
Unrelatedly, I just participated in a remote study with EA. I cannot say what I tested on, but I can say that I did it.
Interesting. Iām surprised by the lifetime of the Sims 4 compared to the other games, itās nearly a decade old now
It is surprising, but at the same time it makes sense because game cycles in general are longer.
With Project Rene, maybe the Sims 5 is on the horizon, but I can see EA continue to release packs for a couple more years.
Yeah, itās obviously still massively profitable for them
I have to say Iām guilty of that, once I get the urge to play the sims, I also tend to impulse buy packs
Pray for my wallet:
It appears the next Sims expansion pack may be revealed tomorrow. Here's the leak: https://simscommunity.info/2023/02/01/the-sims-4-growing-together-features-screens-and-more/
I don't know if I'm allowed to confirm or deny that this is what I playtested on.
And this isn't me being cheeky: I'm allowed to reveal what I reviewed once it's publicly released, but that could be a few months from now at the earliest.
I also saw the newest Sims 4 patch finally fixed the toddler sandal glitch. A while ago, I made my own custom mod to fix it (it was because the sandals were flagged for the bathing outfit).
[CK3] Is it just me or do levies feel like they do more harm than good
Like they just eat up your supply slots barely contributing any manpower
I consider levies situational. They're necessary during the beginning when you don't have lots of men at arms, but late in the game you can wage a lot of smaller wars and rebellions with only men at arms. Levies still remain useful though when you clash with a stronger opponent and need meat shields.
Feb 8th open beta š https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/developer-diary/victoria-3-dev-diary-73-open-beta-and-update-1-2-overview.1566832/
Hello and welcome! Today we'll be covering several topics relating to Update 1.2:
Open 1.2 Beta
Feature Overview
Anticipated 1.2 Release Date
As mentioned in our last dev diary, 1.2 is a big update with some far-reaching changes, and we don't...
It definitely feels that way, yeah. I am now considering scutage contracts for my vassals, increased passive income feels more flexible than extra levies.
There's some hype in the game cracking hobby (?) today. Empress, the premiere Denuvo cracker, is moving from cracking 6mo-1yr old games and will not crack new releases.
Her next target: Hogwarts Legacy.
Oh, and it's apparently a big deal that Empress cracked Monster World: Rise.
People are saying that cracks mere days after release should leave a noticeable dent in sales. Good I say, considering the next game they're targeting.
yeah. the closer to launch the crack, it will have some impact; i think some crack just for the challenge of it lol. so many people preordered it :/. it's gonna sell alot. there's a massive marketing budget on it it's just were likely not seeing ads for it as much as others with how digital advertising works its metrics.
know a few review publications that are outright not gonna cover it.
People are really gassing this game up, yāall are shameless this looks ass LMAO

This is...uh...
Keep seeing this clip
Personally I think it looks fine considering itās a harry potter game
Doesnāt have to look like final fantasy
It feels off.
Looks standard for 3rd person rpg gameplay
Dodge rolling while wearing that attire sends me though
You articulated one of the things that feel off. Rolling does not work in this context.
I guess the movement could use some work
But I feel like thatās more a testament to how this particular player is playing
there's alot in that clip where the kinsethics arent polished or make it look like it feels good to play. the soundwork is tops and carrying the whole thing. but yea, can say the same about alot of other well reviewed games and revered studios that are lacking in similar departments.

i've curated my online experience so that i've not seen a ton of it, so seeing people get hype over it is new to me
it's a pretty looking AAA open world action rpg. those tend to just be popular in general.
Still think about this:
i think i've seen something to the effect of: "please don't harass or send death threats to our staff" "WE WOULDN'T IF YOUR GAME WASN'T GARBAGE REEEEE"
Some scuffling in the game modding community: https://notnite.com/blog/gshade-tango-2/
Heard about that, something about inserting malware in their product or somesuch? Some real dishonest stuff
Yup, made it so that the program (GShade) had an "anti-tampering measure" that shut down the computer if it detected a specific program (DeezShade) that backported GShade shaders into ReShade.
Some other amusing notes:
a) GShade's dev turned his own software into malware to own a 16-year-old
b) A lot of former GShade users are migrating back to ReShade, the original non-malware version

The Infant Update continues to approach.
Some of the new cribs can be upgraded into toddler beds so the furniture can age with your Sims. Also, thereās a new travel crib that is live draggable coming in the Sims 4 infant update. You can take it with you anywhere so you have a place for your infant to rest even when youāre not at home.
(If anyone's wondering, the baby lifestage will remain, with infant being the intermediate between baby and toddler.)
Not to be a bit heavy, but one reason I'm waiting for the infant update to play again is ||that my save file includes a pet who died in real life since I last played||.
But to keep it light, here's another change coming: https://simscommunity.info/2023/03/03/first-look-at-the-new-social-pie-menu-coming-to-base-game/
The subcategories is a fair overhaul, considering the sheer number of interactions that come with the game, and they even key into the likes & dislikes system.
I am so sorry
Thank you. I've found more peace since but I do hope not to rip open old wounds.
Paradox announced a lot new titles today.

Paradox Tectonic GM Rod Humble will be unveiling the studio's new game, Life By You. We can't wait to share more, hope to see you there!
Later this month, Paradox Tectonic will be "unveiling" their next game, headed by The Sims alum Rob Humble. Even in this short teaser, it appears we may finally receive worthy Sims competitor.

Travel system seems promising, though I wonder if it would also affect schemes.. probably not
Nah schemes are way too frequent. But still it doesn't make sense that my ruler could seduce/befriend someone in India and someone in France at the same time eh?
I usually only download CC that's Maxis Match and for male Sims, and I don't even know if there's at least 1.5k of that out there.

There's reportedly a workshop item for Team Fortress 2 that keeps getting banned and unbanned: Big Slappy. https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/11pz1q6/big_slappy_banned_for_the_6th_time/
Two main theories are that it's either mass reports triggering an auto-ban or two workshop moderators with conflicting calls. It's more likely the former, but I like the latter theory.

[made a tiny rant about it not having added much since it's (imo) barebones release but ultimately decided that it doesn't add much for discussion]
it seems fun regardless though and I have been meaning to get it for years now. I guess I just wanted them to go more in the direction of something more linear like Viking Conquest.
I said during the rate reveal that my sims 4 game was fine after the infant update after doing the minimum mod updating, which is still mostly true except for my infant having glowing yellow lizard eyes because I didn't update my defaults.

I'm glad I'm not into video game dev because gamers are hard to please.
And assuming that this glitch is a model rig issue (which means that Sims will revert to normal after the hotfix), then that makes it one of those bugs that are highly visible yet nonurgent.
Which means it's the type of bug that the devs aren't on code red to solve (compare to, say, a bug that corrupts a lot of users' saves) yet will annoy in the meantime.
The Pinkerton story continues: https://gizmodo.com/magic-the-gathering-leaks-wizards-wotc-pinkertons-1850374546
I find this whole story incredibly funny for some reason
It's like using a war hammer on a nail. And the war hammer is 200 years old.
Life by You will have the teen, adult, and elder life stages on launch and maybe the children life stage, and they'll eventually have the toddler and infant life stages.
It's another reason to manage expectations, since early access may be rough.
The Sims 4 also received a hotfix today, which fixes the "face bug". https://simscommunity.info/2023/04/26/the-sims-4-update-april-26-2023-patch-notes/

is the travel overhaul a basegame thing
been reading some reviews.. I think overall people like it and have been praising how there's so much to do now outside of wars. Will definitely get it some time, too deep into Troy TW right now
Yep, along with the reintroduced regency feature. The base game update is very generous, although the expansion content is pretty hefty.
I do enjoy the new travel system. At the least, it changes up the flow of the game.
For example, I'm more selective about Petition Liege (Royal Court feature) because now I have to travel to use it.

Beside the obvious horses, it also comes with sheep, goats, nectar, and a Wild West-themed neighborhood.
i just saw a thread on reddit of people saying people shouldnāt complain about the new pack.. why do sims fans want to let ea get away with everything
it looks fine i guess.. but half of the content couldve been put in country living and the other half in pets and then they would finally feel like sims 3 level packs
I think first impressions are fair. What I think are less necessary are people saying "this isn't enough content for an expansion pack" from the launch trailer alone.
(Putting aside complaints that TS4 expansion packs don't have enough content, but it's too soon to say that Horse Ranch will have less content than previous EPs.)
Anyway, it feels like a good time to mute the Sims sub again before the anger peaks again.
Yeah, Iām predicting it will have as much content as other sims 4 expansions, to me, sims 4 expansions are vastly overpriced
Nothing will be as egregious as the Sims 3 Store tho tbh in terms of terrible value for money š it just seems to me simmers are kinda resigned to the scheme of things? I feel like after sims 2 the base game shouldve had seasons pets etc, but theres never progress on that front. we just expect to get the same content in the base game and build up from there.. but maybe its just me with the completionist mindset that i want to buy all expansion packs that makes me a bit resentful lol
they're just preparing for sims 5 having the content in a seasonal battlepass premium tier lol
Kind of a steep price drop for Gotham Knights.
Especially since the Complete Edition of Horizon Zero Dawn has been out on PC for three years.
Thinking about how the last piece of content for the first Our Life game will be an 18+ wedding night DLC.
and I might pay to get it.
But I still have to play through Cove's wedding first.

First time watching something from this game, let's see how it is
All discourse I've seen on this game were people saying it will kill The Sims as a franchise. This didn't feel like it was trying to replicate it at all. If anything it feels more like Kenshi. Huh.
If anything, The Sims will kill itself, depending on how Project Rene goes. I think the same thing happened with SimCity anyway. Cities Skylines filled it's niche when it imploded on itself.
Sims' aesthetic is so established that Life By You just idk looks utilitarian/clinical? It will do well but I wouldnt be surprised if the next sims goes in some different direction in terms of its content/business model
