@pure plank your air defense is concentrated in the center and all your heavy defenses are towards the side which would be fine but imo guard posts should be the heaviest defenses in the base, crushers, roaster,stuff like that.never have your push traps push into a bomb/spring trap, especially if theyre on the outside, they could be triggered by barbs. i do really like your northern crusher + archer tower setup, it looks confusing which is always good. your other crusher is in an ok position, but it might be suceptible to archer sniping

@dull sandal cuz of the defenses. many people want the 6th builder and thats the whole reason they play on builder base, so the better defenses (tesla - wrecks tanks/bm, lava launcher - wrecks night witches, barbs, archers) along with more traps, which makes defenses easier and gets you more loot, getting you to OTTO faster

your troop levels are independent from your builder hall level
but if you rush your troop level ceiling goes up
for example you can get level 16 troops at bh8, and level 18 troops at bh9

unlike in the main village there's no real penalty for rushing (war, less loot from lower th)
and you get more resources through more collector levels and clock tower
your army also gets stronger through getting more army camps at higher bh levels

That's the thing about builder base, in mb you drop down for more loot while in bb you drop down only to get less.
That's why builder base is shit, and will stay like that unless Supercell does something about it ( which I doubt they will ).
Although the loot difference isn't too much if you only drop down like maximum 300 trophies.
You may get more loot on your current trophy range, but it's really a question of if you have the patience and can keep down your temper to continuelly lose matchs until you get your 3 wins for the day.
Not only that, but you'll have to do that everyday for months until you get Otto
So I'd say dropping down is better if you can't keep up the patience and your temper down to go through that.

im bh7 at the moment, i rushed from bh5 a while back and almost max bh7 now. I know maxing isnt really the best approach but i dont want to get so far behind . Once i've maxed at bh7 i'll probably go straight through to bh9. I have another account thats just turned bh5 so for both really wondering what are best defenses to upgrade in terms of added benefit for your defense - not for rushing

@vital grotto I would say try to balance your defense upgrades to a certain extent, since lower cost upgrades generally give you more value, I personally prioritized the roaster and mega tesla, as well as the other special one-building defenses, but even then only by a level or two
