Upgrade Goblins to Level 8 as mentioned earlier. From there, something like ZapDrag can be a decent attacking army until you get something like Witches or Hybrid upgraded. In terms of spells, I'd max Lightning, Rage and Freeze first, along with Poison and EQ depending on the attack comp. Jump is also highly helpful for farming.

2 dropships, one for the long range archer tower, another for the double cannon below, I think the bomb explosion will kill the lava launcher since underlevelled, then rest of your army cannon carts to chip a lot down, have the battle machine tank the giant cannon when surrounding stuff is dead to minimize damage

A min can clean top corner

Then fullsend everything bottom with bbd clearing right corner

Ship can be dropped on air def

Battle machine go to air xbow (don’t use ability until full charge)
Electro wizard go to laboratory

2 more minions snipe the teslas at right side

then I spammed witches and used ability to take out teslas on centre

then all the rest of the attack pushed double cannons and bbd ability took out teslas

Yea. i'm mid BH 8. I only come back to CoC about 2 weeks ago, or less. I was absent for maybe a year, or more. I didn't realize they put your base in auto upgrade mode, a lot of stuff was improved. but it's as if they focus on the minimal and the up the TH or the BH when they can. I don't op like that, I prefer to make sure all defenses and walls as well as mines, and training/brewing structures, are up to date, before I up the BH or TH. So that's what I've been doing, trying to get base caught up. I think I've spent in the past, but I'm trying to keep it F2P as well. so you know how long that takes.

As far as the game auto updating abandoned bases? I think they do that so players (especially the whales) have targets to hit, besides active players.

That is actually the optimal strategy, because there's zero downside to doing so.

From here, you can upgrade Baby Dragons or PEKKAs to Level 18 for the troop task, Multi Mortar to 9 for the defense task, and Level 23/22 Machine/Copter to optimally complete the Hero levels.

You could also do something like 25/20, which will make your Machine more useful.

You don't really need to, at least not during the initial rush to complete BOB.

You can just force-quit for your loot, and eventually your trophies will stabilize, though troop upgrades help out immensely.

Nope. This is the way to go. Focus on maxing your Lab and Clock Tower as well as Storages and Collectors, then unlock and choose the troop you want to max for the troop task, then grind out Heroes.

Your remaining Gold can still go into defenses, or even upgrading to BH10 since there's not much downside to doing so. However, you do not need to, and you do lose some builder time in the process, in return for an extra defense and Lab/collector level.

You actually want to rush Builder Base because there's zero downside to doing so, and it lets you start and complete BOB earlier. Upgrade to BH9, and from there, max out your Multi Mortar for the gear up and defense upgrade tasks, max Carts, Baby Dragons or PEKKAs for the troop task, and upgrade your BM and Copter to either 23/22 (cost optimal) or 25/20 (higher ability on BM).

Yes. Very little has changed in that regard. Matchmaking is trophy based, so having a higher level BH gets you stronger defenses that make up for your lower overall levels.

That, and you get more collectors and levels, Army and Reinforcement Camps, and stronger Star Lab and Power Potion boosts.
