You can always get a fat percentage 2 star if played correctly with litteraly every decent strat on any base, though ground has a tendancy to be able to get higher % A LOT more frequently than air

it's quite rare to get more than 74% with air attacks, even from the top attackers in the world. 80+% are more common for ground attacks, and that's also considering ground is a lot more trapped against in the very top bases

there is a reason there are a lot more players using mostly ground at the top of the leaderboard

Max OTTO until you turn to any other defenses, but if you're going to overflow on Gold and you won't interfere with your Battle Machine upgrades by doing them, work on Guard Post and Roadster, but only when your Mega Tesla is max.

Yeah- I agree. The point is pick an army and stick to it. I happened to start with cannons and bombers until I was near Otto. Added giants. When I had or nearly had Otto.

Only after I had Otto I upgraded barracks and leveled minions then drop ships then bbd on main acct.

On second account only did dropsships and minions so far.

On third, doing pekka for a change. Drop ships and minions and bbd are all low.

Rush. Like mentioned… no downside. Verses battles matching is trophy based not level based.
Upgrade barracks to at least level 7 for cannon carts. Upgrade those at every opportunity and a second troop to support (giants are best imo). Battle machine to at least level 5 to get electric hammer and every opportunity thereafter.
I’m currently rushing bh. Rn at bh9, cannon carts upgrading to level 14. Giants still at level 5, BM at level 6, most every thing except collectors and storages still level 1 (i really need to start on mortar and mega tesla), and still win most verses battles for resources. Trophies hovering between 2400 & 2500. Almost made 2600 today.

The multi mortar is a defense building that has to go up to lvl 8, so you can't leave it behind in a rush- but do bh before it, anyway. Just take battle machine to 5 and leave it until you are bh 9- you need elixir for cannon carts and army camps. Giants or barbs are good choices to level up with cannon carts but not both! I actually used just bombers and carts until I got Otto, which worked fine (I even got the 3000 trophies) but it's less common than giants and carts. Also you need elixir for gold storage. This has to be leveled up. And you need elixir storage because you will be in need of gallons of it for months.

Don't worry, you will be forced to upgrade the walls when you get to bh 9- I wouldn't make sure to do them. When you are builder hall nine, you will start focusing all elixir and builder time on the battle machine, and you will naturally have to do the walls to spend some gold without spending builder time.

This could also happen along the way, such as when you have yo install army camps.

7k is quite a stretch

some 7k bases are shit at 5k when the season resets. they lose to hog spam or pekka spam, where many noobs will play but the pros at the top dont want to take such a risky approach

they dont actually lose at 5k its just that people at 7k want to defend below 76% while someone at 5k just wants to get 1 star or low% 2 star defences

i have tried a couple of the top eos bases before and after season reset there were people at low trophies who managed to 3 star. sometimes all it takes is a spam strategy and some luck to do well

yeah but you need to win at least 7/10 at top to push properly and you cant do that by relying on luck

also depends on if it was with the exact same traps or not

also bases get modified a lot while spreading
