The 3rd shot that you get after 4 months is a booster, which supposed to help increase your immunity and help prevent catching it in the first place. Most of the people being admitted and dying never had any vaccine though, so even having 1 shot is miles ahead of the hospitalized people.

So I think it depends on your risk tolerance and whether you are just trying to lower your chances of catching it or lower your chances of dying from it.

Ideally everyone will get all of their reccomended shots so we can get back to normal, but that's not going to happen.

I just mean that getting the first 2 shots lowers your risk of dying by a lot, but if someone wanted to avoid catching it at all they would want all 3 shots. Whatever someone wants would depend on their risk tolerance and what level of risk they are willing to take. Just having the vaccine + boosters doesn’t eliminate the risk of catching or dying from Covid, but the odds are significantly lowered.
