I'm in Raleigh, NC. We get tornado warnings a few times a year. Actual tornadoes, less frequently. Though in the late 1980s, I did have the roof of my apartment ripped off by a tornado (among other property damage).

There is enough elevation where I live that flooding isn't an issue. But it can affect parts of NC; everyone knew anywhere east of I-95 was susceptible, but we also learned the mountains can also be affected.

I remember when Hurricane Matthew came a few years back. We had a family vacation on the outer banks, lasted one day. Drove from Nags Head to Daytona to avoid it. Would like to kinda experience it though lol

I went to a Duke football game when Hurricane Matthew was passing through NC. Let's say the stadium was poorly filled for the game, and we hid in the "covered" seating sections.

(FWIW, I have (and have had for a couple of decades) season tickets to Duke football games)

I fully understand why Riley transfereed from Duke to ND: we would never be able to provide the NIL money he got at ND, and he would never have the opportunity to compete for a national championship at Duke.

Everyone spends money. Duke is paying their new QB $4 million a year. I don't know where that ranks compared to other players, but it is a lot by any measure.

We won the title in 22, but have been early exits and not good for past couple of years. KU fans spoiled like Duke. Both facilities are the epitome of Basketball and UNC and Indian, UCLA, Kentucky

Schools can buy players, which helps level the playing field. Especially in basketball, when you only need a few great players. So I can see how Houston is ascending, if they are willing to buy their way to the top.

It doesn't. Neither does school tradition. Players want their money. I can't blame them, though. I would take a multi-million dollar paycheck to play college sports, too.

I agree completely, players been getting profited off of way too long with no compensation. It’s just opened a new box. I would like to see transfer portal limitations or contracts lasting 2 years, etc.

Two years in college are long gone. I'm amazed there is still the 1-and-done era in existence. However, if you want to enforce any minimum criteria for players at a school, coaches should agree to the same and clearly state their commitment when recruiting players.
