This was actually a native. The kangaroo had one of his dogs in a choke hold, and he came in to scare the kanagroo away. The kangaroo stood up, and he to a shot on it, after which the kangaroo ran away. He's probably lucky, as those bottom legs can do some serious damage. But I always enjoy the "kangaroo boxing" gifs.
