basically make sure heroes are close to max. completely upgrade the core defenses such as eagle, xbows, infernos and scatters. upgrade the troops you know you gonna use so plan ahead what attack strategies you gonna use. then the other defenses I just make sure it is max level of the previous TH.

You see that the lab/heroes/ and defences take various amount of time to complete right?

The goal for a perfect upgrading process is to balance them equally so that by the time u have almost maxed the heroes and defences ur lab is also almost finished and you can get to the next TownHall like a breeze

Also no my archer queen and barbarian king would be level 50 at max th14 for me if i upgrade them to 35 right now before upgrading to th12 then upgrading them 5 times each at th12 th13 and th14, or level 45 at max th14 if i dont upgrade them to 35 before upgrading to th12

Not upgrading one of these , will throw your base of balance and will give u a harder time in the future

Not upgrading ur heroes( or atleast not to the max lvl of the current townhall) might not seem like a big deal but, it will bite u back when u are going against either high levelled bases or max bases and you can’t 3 star them because ur army is not well balanced

The hero lvl will just keep stacking if u do not upgrade them accordingly

I mean is there anything more i can explain?

The plan is to immediately start upgrading your heroes after upgrading the TownHall so that when u have maxed out your heroes, u then are busy with the defences and lab and in this time period u can use ur max heroes in CW and multiplayer
-battles along with ur leveled troops and spells

And when finished with the defences and lab you go to the next TownHall and start the process again.
Ofcourse nobody forces you to do this but, if you want to have an easier time and play the game like it is meant to then this is your best option
