I'd reccomend replacing Yellow Concrete with Yellow Terracotta, It gives a nice gold color and doesnt stick out too much. I'd also Reccomend making measurements with Tiles. I like to use 9x9 blocks per tile so it's just enough detail and just small enough. You're gold spikes should be gold and 3 blocks wide. Use Yellow Terracotta, there's no way around making a nice spike without slabs and stairs so you'll have to bite the bullet. Raise the gold screws by 1 more. Also Try using more blackstone stairs and slabs to make the cannon more round looking. The back of the cannon actually has gold on it. The Axis used to rotate the cannon is the same black color as everything else is. With those changes the cannon should look much bettter.

I'm not trying to be rude with criticism. (Especially because I'm being constructive about it). Your cannon looks pretty accurate, however some of the colors of blocks were off, and there was more to be added.

The barrel should be set further back. See how it is situated? The barrel reaches the edge, and the other end doesn’t but still extends out a good bit
