Recently gotten into warhammer and minipainting in general, took a couple models to build up courage but just tried non metallic metal.

I think the highlight colour of the copper is a little too desaturated and there could be another highlight colour beforehand to make it slightly less jarring? Would love some advice, general thoughts and feedback. Thanks!

Hey friend!
Im no expert, but Ive painted a bit of NMM in my hobby journey, and copper in particular is pretty weird! Its kinda red, orange, and brown at the same time, but adding white or off white to these colours results in pinks, yellows and tans. I ran into these problems when painting the same model you are, I didnt know how to get brighter highlights without it going gray or pink. Ill link a video by Vince Venturella that really helped me, in which he talks about NMM copper.

I really like the placements and "clarity" of your highlights, but as you said they are very desaturated, and I think Vince will be able to tell you why a lot better than I can.

In this Hobby Cheating Tutorial, I take you through the paints, methods and techniques for painting credible NMM. Hope you enjoy!

copper tends to be pinkish with warm highlights in neutral lighting.

just use a color picker in that image and you should be able to figure out better colors.
