Cyanoacrylate

If you have access to Bob Smith Industries I’m partial to the Maxi-Cure one but they’re all basically the same.

resin is the best glue for resin prints. Do you print them or just buy the prints? If you print them then just use the resin straight out of the bottle and get a UV light or UV flashlight

#

read or watch a video on how to properly use the resin for this purpose. It's not just simply pouring it on and curing it with the light. Resin has to "see" the light to cure, so deep glue joints have to be made in layers and if the resin is hidden from the light it won't cure at all and you don't want that

I really like VMS Flexy 5K CA. You can get it from Poland at super-hobby.be.

I always used super glue from army painter. For plastic and resin and metal. Only not for bushes

#

But everyone says this glue is only for metal...

well it's the same color as the resin, and depending on how you apply it and how well you cure it, is a better adhesive. Higher tensile strength etc

#

the main thing you'd have to worry about is hiding pockets of uncured resin and that's why I suggested watching a video on it. The process is pretty simple though

I don’t think colour matters if you’re painting over it…

Cyanoacrylate is set and forget, and has a pretty strong bond on its own.

You don’t have to worry about any of this issues you mentioned with UV resin…

UV resin also has a relatively short lifespan and will start to leak/stretch over time.

while there's no doubt that resin has it's idiosyncrasies. CA glue does as well. It will seize up just by exposing it to the air, so the shelf life is much shorter than resins we use for 3d prints. I realize there are more steps to using resins but I think they're worth it. I've never experienced it leak or stretch personally. I suspect that's probably because it wasn't cured properly by the method I described above. Neither are ideal imo. But overall I prefer resin just because nothing pisses me off more than to grab a bottle of hard CA glue

CA glue for joints that are easy/large/safe

but for spots that are a bit shitty, prone to breaking or otherwise annoying, resin glue like @hallow yacht is advocating for is very good. It’s like plastic glue, but for resin

yes, it just sticks better

for resins

also there's that sprue glue - I don't know personally how effective it is for resin parts, but that's another possibility maybe?

#

no personal experience using it

Doubt sprueglue any good for resin since afaik it’s designed for plastics

hallow yacht
#

yes, I was just not sure of it's general adhesive properties on anything other than from whence it came

resin is it's own special class of substance ya know it?

#

it's damn near impervious to everything

Acetone will make short work of it.

won't touch 3d resin

#

won't even mar it

#

MEK, limonene, butyl acetate, methylene chloride - nothing...

I don't know what resin you're talking about, but the resin I use in my printer, once it's cured, there's no solvent I know of that will touch it
