#Plinth and brass rod size?

I’m not into super fancy plinths yet so I just bought a chunk of oak from Home Depot and I cut it into plinths. I dye it sometimes with stain or transparent paints. If you’re going to paint it with an opaque paint you can get a cheaper piece of wood.
Other folks who like fancy things enjoy Taro Modelmaker.
For Brass Rod I have 2mm and 2.5mm and typically use the 2mm more often. K&S Metals is the brand I see the most often in North America but I’m sure there are others available too.
I get my brass rod and tubes from hobby rail stores. They're really useful for bits and bobs that you will use in katbashing or assembly
2,5 and 4 mm brass rod is what I use. I got it at the local hardware store in 1 m lengths.
Plinths I get from all over or make them myself.
If you own or have access to a saw it’s fairly easy to cut up a piece of wood.
Though if you want a smooth black plinth I’d probably advice getting a pre made. Nailing that smooth finish is a lot of work.
Thanks so much my friend. Where are you sourcing pre made ones?
