So I'm planning to paint a full scale (replica) handgun with a 17ml bottle of paint using a brush (don't have an airbrush), and I don't want to overbuy if I can help it. Is 1 bottle enough or do I need more? I guess thinner is also a factor since that will increase the amount of paint. I'm imagining several coats would be necessary.
#How much paint can I get out of those small 17ml bottles?

A 17 ml bottle should last for a full armory of handguns.
And yes, you will have to thin the paint down, but how much will depend on the brand/range.
yea you can prolly cover an area of an A4 sheet with .... I'd GUESS like 2-3ml
you would be suprised how good the paint covers
Follow up question after some thinking, how exactly do u go about figuring out how much thinner to use? I just ordered some plastic pipettes so i should be able to proportion droplets and make accurate paint to thinner ratios, but is there any general rules or ratios to start off with? I know ill have to experiment with my own paint on my own. I'm planning on using acrylic and alcohol based paints
depends on the paint brand and what exact thing u wanna do with it for alcohol and acrylic water paints the thinner u use is water
Not really
It’s just whatever paint brand
You will see as you paint how much you need to thin
You don’t need pipettes or anything. Just your brush and dab it in a bit of water
