Closest Replacement to P3's Umbral Umber Paint | minipainting | Page 1

Hi everyone! Seeing as P3 paints aren't abundant anymore, I'm reaching out for help from anyone with experience with the color "Umbral Umber" from the P3 range. It's been, by far, my favorite shade color in my 15+ years of painting, and is likely my most-used color period, thinking about it.

I tried Golden's Burnt Umber as a comparison, but even that is too light, and is slightly more orange than the Umbral Umber. Has anyone used/have access to Umbral Umber to help me find the closest possible color to it in a more accessible range?

Try these swatches as online ones are generally garbage.

Another solution might be to add a tiny bit of black in your Burnt Umber

Or be outrageously lucky that right when I need help, a kick starter appears which is bringing them back. Guess I'll just order 20 and call it a day 🤣

Be aware that the KS is NOT for the P3 as they were but for a reformulation of these. They might get similar colours but there's no confirmation they will behave similarly or even use the same mix of pigments.

Hi, I found some similar colors here, the most distant one is Scale75 which has more of a reddish tone but has a similar value.
