#NMM gold help

Hello! I have a feeling the colours are fine but the placement doesn't work?
On the 3 belt discs: if the light is coming from our top right then the highlights need to be rotated 90 degree, with stronger highlight directly opposite the incoming light, and mostly rebounced (thinner, not as strong) highlight opposite with a one string sparkle at the top right of each disc?
For the others my brain cannot compute them. 😂
Wait 90 degrees? So like for the circles if I'm thinking about it like a clock face, and the light is coming down from the top, would it be 12 and 6? Or 12 and 3?
if light is coming from 2 o'clock (I mean that's my current guess) then largest highlight at 8 o'clock, secondary (smaller) highlight at 2 o'clock. At least that's how I think about it. 😅
What about something like this
Yeah that looks better, I think the takeaway is that they should be across from each other and one needs to be brighter-er than the other?
The top highlight is a reflection of the sun and sky, the bottom highlight is a reflection of the ground
So yeah in this case, the top is brighter because it's the sun
oh yeah, I forgot to ask if they're bent outwards or inward 🤣
you're totally right @topaz matrix
I think it's improving
Looks like it!
Here's where it ended up
Definitely some room for improvement, but it's convincing at gaming distance, and I'm happy with it
Nice job, especially on the hilt. If you want to do more NMM it will be easier on a larger figure. This one was on hard mode!
Thank you! And yeah I felt that, for sure, getting a satisfactory blend over that tiny circle felt difficult. Mad props to people out there who can do convincing NMM on little details like that!
This is what gets me excited
