I'm going to use this year and this WiP thread as a "rebirth" year for myself in mini painting. Retraining my old habits, giving myself more reward, and finding more joy in my work
I think the backpiece will be gold when I go back to assess the model, but for now I'm very happy with a 3hr project like this. Probably the fastest I've painted a model in a very, very long time
Great mini. Good luck. Cant wait to see what you do.
Excluding drying times, this took about 45m and I'm very happy with the test. Will likely push forward into a full, simple project with this
Thank you, making things simpler and more conceptual has been a breath of fresh air
I like the blend.. says orange and red at the same time.
I've got an Old World event coming up and I've gotta figure out how to achieve this gritty feel on my Legion of Azgorh
I've done things with texture before but idk if I've ever done something with grit like this
I usually paint very bright and poppy so I honestly am not sure how to achieve this
I think I'm going to start with black, do a stippling layer of a brownish red and a heavy wash of a black-brown then mix my brownish red and an iron color and stipple that up, bringing it down to a brownish black where I feel necessary
Finally a good day to prime so I'll get some Dwarfs primed tonight and go from there
Down to 30m a marine to get to this point, 15m of which is drying time, we're so set to get this done quickly
Getting there
Cleanups, teeth, tusks, pants, and basing left!
Donezo!
hes cool!!
Onto da shields
Thanks!!
Time to take a break from rough and tumble boys to do Marine #2
cool!!!
Okay I'm actually happy with this
I'm going to treat this as a base to scuff and weather from, but this feels good
he looks cool!!
This turned out great!
