Another day, another distraction. I picked up these 1/35 Verlinden Schwimmwagen Crew for dirt cheap this weekend. Knowing I had an ancient Tamiya kit that I’ve always had on the back burner as a challenge, I got to cleaning them up immediately.

#

The tamiya kit is old and it shows. The detail is poor, scaling isn’t ideal. I picked the kit up (again for cheap) at a model show, and discovered when I got home it was already partially assembled

The full crew will hide the sub par interior but it’ll take a lot of work to make sure everything fits well. The Schwimmwagen needs a lot more love to have it look the part. I’m on the hunt for some after market parts to improve the overall look. This won’t be completed anytime soon but I’ll chip away at it every now and again.
