#Icy bases?

I don't know if this is realistic enough for what you plan, but what I did was:
- Paint the base in a light blue
- Glue on some decorative clear crystal thingies (they sell those where people also buy decorative candles and stuff)
- Glue on the mini
- Use AK snow sprinkles (acrylic Diorama)
- Let it dry a day and repeat snow sprinkles as necessary
I put it on with a toothpic and all the bases have I believe two layers
Oooh thats looking good!
thank you ^^ Hope this helps you!
ohhh this looks really nice! need to check it out :3
My old wip tests for icey basing using Agrellan Earth to create cracked ice, spraying it white, and washing it with Frostheart, a little bit of white and blue white drybrushing, and gloss varnish on top with snow edging it out
You can also remove the ground and just keep it the bare base and paint on top of that, my buddy has done that when we did ice basing together, I'll see if I can't grab a pic from them
This is his, he did a very small amount of texture beneath but the way he did the scratches were to take Citadel's texture tool and white paint+snow and literally scrape and scratch it across the base
Very cool! (Pun not intended)
Rock Candy Crackle Paint is transparent crackle paint and makes great clear ice
Oooh that looks awesome! How did they do that one, do you know?
Ooh I've thought of doing this
I'm really digging this look tbh
I made some ice bases and got questions about them so here goes. It's based on the EPIC videos of @njm_marcofrisoni ! But without the resin. I substituted that with transparant acrilic bases. To summ it up:
- Transparent acrylic base (mine from @greenstuffworld )
- Transparent plastic sheets cut into circles and then cut into 3-6 pieces.
- ...
Amazing! Thank you ❤️❤️
Thoughts on using glass chunks for ice sheets?
Found these on site at work, thought that might make a decent ice look. Not sure if it'll stick onto a base and if a mini will stick to the glass either
doesn't superglue stick to everything? I haven't tried real glass though. I would be cautious if the edges are sharp
it does look nice, though
Be careful the layers don't get too thick, the thin plastic stacks nicely
