Yesterday: Trying to judge what OSL from her left would look like...
The original art has yellow OSL from the lower left and slight pink from the right.
Don't know yet if I will dare to try that, but at this point it's not destroying anything and I can use it for later reference.
Also yesterday, I did the skin: Vallejo Succubus Skin, Purple Shadow, and Light Flesh.
Base coat for some other regions.
And here is today's progress: more base coats, some details on the panties, on the sword, and her hair.
Panties and Gloves: AK Lime Green and Vallejo Nocturna Deep Forest Skin.
Sword: Liquitex Quinacridone Magenta + AK Tenebrous Grey, Vallejo Ivory.
Sword handle: Vallejo German Corp Orange Ochre, AK Orange Brown, Vallejo Golden Yellow, Vallejo Ivory, AK Burnt Umber ink for shadows.
Hair: Vallejo German Corp Orange Ochre as a wash, Golden Yellow mixed with Lime Green for highlights, some Ivory mixed in for highest highlights.
Our coach said don't wait too long with the eyes, because otherwise the face will always look strange... so I added eyes.
Looking at the close-up I would like to do them differently, but they are under one millimeter, and even with 2,5x magnification, I have problems seeing them, so I don't think I will revisit them.
(Is it possible to fill the gaps where the arms are attached at this scale?)
(yes, but I guess I'm too late to say this...? Gloss varnish if it's small enough?)
Not sure if it is too late. I guess I could still fix the skin. I have never sculpted anything... So don't know how much of a mess it would make.
If you use varnish i think you already know what to expect?
For green stuff or such, just make sure you create squiggly squibbles and water the darn things all the way. 😂 It's sticking to tools (don't use fingers after the initial squiggling) is a challenge.
Hm, no haven't used varnish for filling yet. I didn't suspect it can be used like that. Overall very little experience with varnish. It wasn't necessary for plastic board game pieces. The color just sticks effortlessly to them..
I'll get some green stuff I think. Thanks for the warning!
Ok. Well. I asked my spouse if we have green-stuff like glue around, and after he couldn't see the gaps without getting his glasses, and told me I should have done this before painting it, I think I'll take your advice and use it on the next mini >.<
I tried to fix it with just paint. If varnish would work, why not un-dilluted paint...?
Also I added yellow OSL.
I feel like the horns need some more attention, and the sword misses some shadows from the yellow light.
Fun fact: When I shone actual yellow light on her, the purple parts (sword and skin) appeared orange, not yellow. so I glazed them orange instead of yellow...
Those gaps disappeared indeed, well done!
Yeah, I now also filled the gap on her right arm as well... may need another round to fully disappear.
Nicer horns too! 👍
Thank you 🙂
