Alright so my thinking is.. do high contrast shiny metal for armour, strong light effect coming from left hitting face first. Military green camo robe and nice deep dark leather gloves/vest. Then a glowing orange or yellow power sword. It looks like trash city at the moment so I’m excited to see how good I can make it.

Hey buddy, not much really. Just a dark blue grey and white. That’s it. Just different mixes

That looks excellent! When you paint in this style, is it a conscious choice to maintain a viewing angle? How do you keep from 'spilling into other angles'? Is it only one angle you focus on, or two/three/more?

Yes, very much. The first thing I did was decide on light, bright light that he’s holding a hand up to shield himself from. After that, materials, and last colors.
As to how… I mean, I guess I just keep checking my work a lot. The model looks good from every angle, as long as you keep light direction consistent.
