#does this finally look like NMM?

Instead of white do ice yellow
Go darker in the recesses and add some shadows
And edge highlight
For the edge highlights, I'm assuming I want to match the highlight to the tone of the gold I'm painting over, and not just do the whole set of edge highlights with pale yellow?
And will work on punching up the black/brown for the recesses.
Just put a bit of cold yellow in white, that's literally what ice yellow is.
It looks like nmm gold-what I’d call ‘cartoon’ nmm, the simple look you seen in illustrations quite often which is low on detail but you still know its metal because it has just enough contrast and context to make it so
Thanks for this y'all, will work to incorporate all this tonight, and then maybe I'll be done with this shield the size of my thumb I've been working on for too long
You know it’s NMM if you’re going out of your mind 😁
It's getting there then. I feel like once I can get this to look right a few times, it's all easy from there. And I know objectively that isn't true, but I need to have this false comfort for now 🙂
More contrast?
Oh actually just started pushing the brown and this is looking a LOT better.
Need to fix some stuff on the trim, and darken the wolf a bit, but I think moving away from the white and adding all those shadows and edge highlights was exactly what I needed. Thanks @hollow forge a ton.
