Well this is going to be a really long project, also because for once I'm doing things properly and start from basing and composition rather than doing these things after I've painted the piece. So far I'm done with the planning and I've scratch built the base structure, in the next days I'll add colors, textures and vegetation, plus, on the left side, a little cascade and a puddle (open to feedbacks on this point as i am not sure. Other option is to put a cute fox as if she was going out from her hole in the rock), then I'll actually start painting the model to fit the scene

Already following πŸ™πŸ™

I like the idea so far, idk what would make the story more alive, maybe give her a reason to have her sword like that, as if she’s preying for something or just got jump scared πŸ˜…

This lower rocks and base just asks for some stream. And it adds life to the scene. But. I saw that so many times... I like the fox idea more, also adds sense to her pose. Don't know your idea for a whole piece but it gives me a Camelot/ Arthurian vibe, and the base already looks similar to this image πŸ™‚

PS: I see in the background the whole Kimera line, how do you find the signature series range? Have some favourites? πŸ™‚

If the puddle gives a sense of direction (horse footsteps?) then I'm all for it.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Yes the idea is her pointing/turning toward an opponent, but that's obviously something you should imagine out of scene...as for the water i have to keep thinking about it, anyway if there's gonna be, it will be a shallow puddle with stuff like dead leaves and roots around.@marble oyster about the kk line so far i pretty much liked the pisarski and the cartacci set but is something you can live without. On the other hand i loved the Karlsson's one, especially dark honey, gold79 and the blue/blacks. I also found the skintones and the greens in the masclans/tenebrae set very cool and useful colors

Finally a little update...not enjoying too much all this extremely small texture building, but I've embarked the path and gonna end it eventually πŸ˜…

Yea I'm trying to push myself for the upcoming major competition, i hope it will be worth the effort...scaling from bronze to silver/gold in the master category seems to be a really steep jump in smc and mss

I know it is still WIP but maybe you will find it helpful. I don't fully like this part. I know this part is the "burned out" highlight of the sun or something but it's too uniform for me. And this darker place near the neck. I know there is gold trim between plates but I will count it like one surface so probably you should stretch it even out of a trim? Hard to see exactly angles in between plates.
And remember I'm not an expert, just sharing my thoughts about what feels not right πŸ™‚

Hey bud sorry i forgot to answer but these have been tough days at work πŸ˜– i get your point on the thing and i can say that I'm sold on the extension of the light, but I'm working to give some green tonal variation around the midtones, so hopefully that'll feel better after πŸ™‚ as for the dark part, i smoothed a bit the intensity but I'm leaving it there as a counterbalance for the shadow on the lower plates, as it helps the eye to separate the two sides of the figure
