It's definitely worth getting one with a tank. You can save money by not getting one bundled with a bunch of junk, if you're willing to get the airbrush separately.

i thought you needed those extra nozzles and the hose.

You will need a hose to connect the airbrush to the compressor, but any of the cheap airbrushes should come with one already. Anything else on top of that isn't necessary to start airbrushing with. Things like those cleaning tools, the airbrush holder, the poor quality paint.

ahh yes. The paint doesn't actually come with it its just clickbait i believe. Other than the Vivo i can't find any cheaper options.

#

What would you recommend. I do like the Vivo. What do you think.

#

upgrading to a better airbrush would be on my bucket list but at the moment i will use whatever comes with.

That looks fine honestly

#

The kit

warped spruce
#

That looks like a better option. It's still the same price as the other one, but I can't see many cheaper compressors on their own except https://www.amazon.com/PointZero-HP-Airbrush-Compressor-Portable/dp/B004KNDQCM/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3CEL95AYIBTOK&keywords=AS-186&sprefix=as-186k%2Caps%2C561&sr=8-5 this one

you need a stupid adapter for that one. which makes no sense

#

The vivo is 93 with prime. Thats why i checked that one out 🤣

warped spruce
#

Oh it's not 1/8 BSP? That's annoying

fierce cove
#

Yes very. and if i bought the adapter plus an airbrush with hose its just the same price you know.

pulsar stream

I think the kit you linked will work just fine. The airbrush will suck but then all airbrushes at that price do. They still work just fine for priming/basecoating/varnishing though.

fierce cove
#

got ya. whats a good budget air brush that could do fine details?

#

that isn't 100+

warped spruce
#

It says 1/8" BSP on the listing, which is what everyone except Badger and iirc Paasche use. Maybe that reviewer just has one of those airbrushes.

pulsar stream
# fierce cove that isn't 100+

Probably not gonna find any of those. The Harder & Stenbeck Ultra comes with pretty good reviews from some people in the channel but it also needs some upgrading to reach maximum potential.

#

Sorry, Harder and steenbeck ultra

warped spruce
#

I managed to get a Mr Hobby Procon boy PS289 for ~$100 AUD and it is really great

pulsar stream
#

I started out with a cheap airbrush just like that though. Works great for the basics and learning how everything works.

fierce cove
#

got ya so i will just upgrade later then.

#

this is all so confusing 🤣

#

between getting a kit or the compressor seperate

pulsar stream
#

I couldn't find a good kit so I just bought them seperately. It was around the same price as your kit though I think.

warped spruce
#

It's not made easier by Amazon's complete lack of listing controls, but the compressor is the most important thing. It will outlast your upgrades.

fierce cove
#

yeah i will just get one with the tank then.

pulsar stream
#

I think I have the exact same compressor and airbrush as in the first image you linked. The timbertech with a tank.

warped spruce
#

They're all made by the same factories in China. Any AS-186 will work.

fierce cove
#

yeah im either going with the Vivo or timbertech.

#

Oh wait so they are the same?

#

i think the vivo has a fan

warped spruce
#

There are some slight differences. Some have fans. I think those are AS-186Ks. I looked at the company website once to see all the models they made.

fierce cove
#

but basically they all run the same im guessing

warped spruce
#

Yeah

fierce cove
#

got ya, i am going to just get the Vizo with the fan then. Thank you so much for the help guys

warped spruce
#

No problem! As you said, it's confusing
