#soo what are these textures after painting?

If you thin your paints with a bit of water, they'll adhere to surfaces smoothly and without visible brushstrokes. You'll have to apply at least a couple coats for the paint to be fully opaque, though
this is contrast paint 😢
Dang, never seen this with contrast though I don't use it myself. I assume you primed your model. Maybe spread the contrast around more thinly?
Can you take a picture that isn't half side light and half dark 😢
It helps to put the light in front of the model
Did you prime it first?
Yes
Looks like the paint is peeling
Its not painted in some areas
Such as backack and antennas
I think maybe the primer sucked cus when i put the contrast on. It felt like it was hydrophobic lmao
Contrast paints work best with light base coats/primers like white
Like this looks very much like chipping to me
I didn’t paint that area because something has to be glued there
But yeah it does look like a chip lol
What colour did you prime it?
What type of primer, in what weather conditions, and how long did you let the primer cure for?
uh it was around 50 degrees, rustoleum (plastic binding one) and probably a day
also grey
It almost looks like paint tearing to me, like the contrast paint was starting to dry and then got pushed around with the brush. Another culprit could be the primer layer. Some parts of the model don't look primed at all, like under the helmet and parts of the backpack. The bigger gun and the hand holding it.
Idk if I've used that Rust-Oleum. There is one type of rust oleum I avoid, which is the paint+primer because it gives me nothing but issues like failing to cure. If this has any kind of satin finish to it, that would cause it to shed water based paint. Can you show the can?
There's a couple types of rust oleum primer so the pic really helps.
Another theory I would put out there is that it’s dust/air particulates getting stuck in the paint. I can tell when I haven’t dusted in a while I start getting mystery spots on my mini.
Others could be right as well, very well could be torn paint
this one
I did regret using grey, but i have a krylon one in white, but it is absurdly thick when it comes out
White is like that. Hmm that didn't look very flat on the model.
in real life it did
i swear this camera makes things look waaaay weirder than what they truly look like
id rather be using white, or even black
It's very possible the camera is doing post processing that is enhancing weird stuff. My pixel loves to enhance brush strokes and color transitions that are barely noticeable to the eye
