I have a few stuff lying around that I would like to put to good use instead of buying yet another bottle. What would you suggest to make a glaze medium?
On my desk I have some liquitex flow aid additive, some low cost artist mat medium and some gel consistency mat medium. I suppose i could make some kinda glaze medium form that + water right? Thank you for sharing your experience.

The artist mat medium is quite thick, so I am about to dilute it with flow aid, but... is thickness something that is nice for glazing? Glazing is not something that I am good at so of course I blame the product not the painter 😉
Normally thickness is the opposite of what you want for a glaze
So it should behave more like a contrast paint with low pigment density?
You got it
Then I suppose diluted flow aid and mat medium should do it.
Or maybe I just keep using contrast medium but I find that the surface tension is not quite correct.
I've definitely used flowaid and a bit of mat medium and it worked nice
Thanks for your input, tried it and it seems fine but it may be a bit too 'runny' maybe...
You could always try adding a bit of water instead of so much flow aid
Flow aid goes a long way
