Paint a troll mini. Pretty simple right?

STANDARD HOUSEKEEPING RULES :

You may prep your mini, this includes, gap fill, assemble, purchase and prime ahead of time. Paint should only be applied during the time-frame of the PAL.

Anyone can join in on the fun. Just share your mini first and paint within the time frame. Request your points in the point request channel by following the pinned post on how to ask for points.

You can't submit the same mini for multiple PALs or other multiple events. And units minis can't be split among the different PALS if they are identical .

Have fun and be nice to each other. Share some wips and some laughs.

For this PAL. Paint a portrait of Red and add a clown nose and bunny ears.

Yeah it's weird. Kiddo had this cough for 2 weeks and then he got a wet cough and now I cough and try to scratch my throat out when u can't breath

I just so happened to have bought these today so I’ll be painting one of em.

I’m gonna do all 3 in different colours. I think magenta, turquoise and green but not sure yet.

Dont really know when something is troll or ogre. Would this cast of a mini I sculpted ages past count as troll?

An ogre to me is more humanoid

I know shrek is called an ogre but I think he’s more of a troll since he’s green.

Yeah, thats what makes it tricky to decide whats more ogre or more troll. Both have pretty varied looks... and often it overlaps. I seen all kinds of skintone for both. As well as a sliding scale for human to monstrous.

I sculpted above lady 20 years back for a small company (Easternfront studios). And even they released her under both the ogre and troll label (though eventually settled on ogress)

The one on the right has a dead goat over his shoulder, you can't really see that from that picture.

But yeah I was also thinking left, I want to paint him magenta. Could contrast really well against the goblin if I paint it desaturated greenish yellow maybe.

The rockgut troggoth box is good value and you get two of those and a huge dude for what? $100-110?

Yeah this magenta ink from liquitex turned out to be quite potent.

Vintage troll I’m going to paint for this

Just filled in some colours today. Used British uniform from Vallejo. I think it’s a very nice desaturated greenish yellowish something colour.

Considering not using it on his teeth though. I quite like the idea of it framing the mini and the teeth kind of ruins that.

Really enjoying these vintage guys. No pressure, just smash em out, full of charm. Gotta dig around to find some materials for a shale base but calling the mini done

It would be a pretty nice looking eye with just a black slit and a white dot as it is, the color is good!
