It’s that time of year!!!!!! Paint an Ork for Orktober!! One month only!!

STANDARD HOUSEKEEPING RULES :

You may prep your mini, this includes, gap.fill, assemble, purchase and prime ahead of time. Paint should only be applied during the time-frame of the PAL.

Anyone can join in on the fun. Just share your mini first and paint within the time frame. Request your points in the point request channel by following the pinned post on how to ask for points.

You can't submit the same mini for multiple PALs or other multiple events. And units minis can't be split among the different PALS if they are identical .

Have fun and be nice to each other. Share some wips and some laughs.

I have a set called the Frostmetal clan, they are listed as ogre and orcs, how do you tell the difference? Is she an orc or ogre? Is it just size and skin color?

In my opinion mostly size (ogres are often seen as a sort of giant). Skincolor isnt that often green for ogres (but can be, Shrek says hi). Often miniaturen can work for both. This lass in my opinion would work for orc without a doubt.

She looks awesome by the way.

The biggest difference I think is usually an ogre looks essentially human - there is something animal about an ork - shape of jaw, ears etc.

I don't have a good ork for this one. I painted one of my brutes for the weathering PAL so not allowed to do another one for this in the same scheme.

Question is whether to pick up a new ork or just sit this one out

Also, old GW Ork shirt with full sleeves is such an incredibly cursed sculpt

theyre kind of sort of believable when the orks have bare arms because its like "maybe its very stiff fabric and it just sits like that" but then you add sleeves and it implies a pair of very sinister dual dorsal ridges on the ork torso

Ty! No it’s much more beginner. Vallejo metal, with Dirty down rust on top, then reactivate with water to get it to pool, really nice being able to reactivate and move it around and make it more intense, and kinda just dry/wetbrush some highlights.
