#Tamiya Clippers With Weak Spring

Hrm, I ordered Tamiya clippers (the 123 kind) and the spring offers almost zero resistance - like it doesn't even easily pop back open after snipping a piece off a sprue. Is it supposed to be like that? If not, anything that can be done to fix it?

Is it a leaf spring or a normal spiral one?

if you can take it out you might be able to put a spacer in there to make it push back a little more, or replace it with another one of similar size.
