Hi there - first time using greenstuff to fix a shoulder joint that I converted. It just kind of looks grainy and mushy. How can I fix it, or am I doomed beyond repair?

I'm not an expert, but is that green stuff or liquid green stuff? The latter is a real mess.

it's green stuff, I made it into a strand and maybe tried to fill too aggressively

Use some very fine grit sandpaper. They also sell some files that are rounded that might be useful if you plan to do lots of green stuff work in the future.

You could re-prime if you wanted but this looks localised enough that I think you could just make the repair and paint over it. If it doesn't work out you can always do the re-prime after I guess 👍

sounds good, and any suggestions on the grit I should be looking at?

In terms of getting a smoother finish, fine sand paper like Jon suggested would be great and maybe invest in some needle hobby files like these

Worst case you can relevel the surface with some filler
