#Painting True Metallic Gold Help

I would grab a different gold paint tbh
The model color metallics are very sub-par
Any recommendations?
Scale 75 golds are fantastic
Sounds good. I will try that. Ordered dwarven and elven to have different shades
Both are great
Are black base coats then later an agrax earthshade a good starting point for painting gold?
Thank you!
Brown works better imo
As a base coat color
And even better if you can manage to have a glossy surface, for metallics.
How would I accomplish that? Like a gloss varnish before applying?
Speaking of which, would a gloss varnish be best for true metallics? I heard matte would dull it out
Yes to both
Thank you so much for your assistance!
That, or gloss medium added to the paint
Oh I see! Thank you!
Do you have to thin the paint down or just use straight from the bottle?
You need to thin it
I have some vallejo thinner medium that I use for acrylic. Does that work? Or just water with metallic paints?
Yeah that should work
