So I purchased these small little mushrooms minis for my girl and told her i would paint them for her. I have been painting a lot of 40k and usually don’t have issues with this, but I can’t seem to find colors that i like. This painters block has had these little guys sitting on my shelf for months and I just can’t find a way to paint them up to be semi realistic mushroom people. Any assistance would help. ✌️

Hello! I would look for examples for inspiration on the web.
Realistic shrooms? Here are some (only edible ones though) https://cleangreensimple.com/article/different-types-of-mushrooms/
you could go crazy and, say, paint them all bisounours style
(you didn't say how old your little girl is)
(probably doesn't work for teenagers)
pasting a few more images for the fun of it
Ok thanks, one of the things I struggle with is visualizing what i want it to be and then executing it in a way that looks good
Sale here. Arnau Lazaro in his FAQ2 says that painters who have painted enough can try to "paint it in their minds" (while looking at the unpainted mini) and it will help see the plan
So you think i just need to slow down a bit and just take some more time to plan out the minis?
I'm not sure so. I'm just trying to think of tricks that could help you feel more comfortable with where it'll get
I mean, what are the "steps" that are missing... (sometimes you just have to do to be happy 😉 but is it one of these times?)
Ok, i might just try to paint them black again and just think through things again
I could have asked another question, before you do that:
what do you not like about each of them, currently?
With a lot of the models i paint I already know how i am going to paint them, with these i dont so i try something and dont feel good with thr reault
