#How do you get a thicker (and consistent) line for the initial edge highlight?

When you say thicker highlight. Do you mean like when you do an edge highlight? Or as a regular highlight
for the initial edge highlight yeah
so here it's dark reaper
Are you using the tip of your brush or the side?
Usually If you use the side of your brush it will do a better smoother light. But ultimately doing it a few quick passes will be better than 1 solid stroke
I guess we could add that there is balance to be researched in thinning the paint between "flows off the brush nicely but covers less" and "doesn't flow off the brush because it's too dry but covers great on the few occasions it flows"?
I've been using the side yeah
that makes sense
so more water for the initial highlights?
why do you mention the "initial" edge highlights, by the way?
It looks like your application may be a bit too dry, so it causes the initial paint to come off but then the paint isn't thin enough to continue wicking out of the brush. So yeah you want to thin it just a teeny bit at a time and test again.
I'm assuming they may also intend to glaze over the edge highlights, so they're trying to get the "initial" lines done first.
ooh, okay 👍
I wasn't sure what else to call the first layer of edge highlights 🙂
the intention is to apply a brighter thinner highlight over it
