Hi everyone, I’ve been painting for about a year, but I don’t feel liking I’m improving much. I just painted this pirate and it’s one of the first minis that I’m actually proud of. However, any tips or advice for improving my painting with each mini would be very appreciated! 😁

Advice 1: keep on painting.
Advice 2: keep on painting and having fun at it.
Advice 3: choose something you want people to really, really focus on when viewing the mini, and make sure it attracts attention. Here I like the parrot but I'd love the face near it to be more easily readable from a distance. (Don't change this pirate - according to advice 1 & 2, try that on the next mini. 😉 )
Advice 4: (and only 4!) get a wet palette if you don't have one, thin your paints a bit more and start blending those color chages a bit.

Thank you so much for the advice! I feel like I struggle on defining a focal point so I’ll definitely work on that next time. I just got a wet palette, and it’s really nice, but I still need to work on my blending. Once again, thanks for the reply 😁
