Hello friends from the internet, I just joined the discord. I am looking for feedback, C&C, and opinions on my minis from fellow nerds since I dont have many IRL friends that are into miniature painting. I am also looking for opinions on the quality of the pictures themselves; sharpness, too bright/dark etc.
I paint 40k minis, my main army is Black Legion but I paint a lot of Deathguard as well. I am uploading some of my recent favourites to start with.
I would really appreciate it if you take the time to comment!

Welcome!

I can say on the mobile phone, the pics are pretty dark and it's hard to see detail. What kind of lighting set up are you using? I'm not saying you need a lightbox or anything, I personally just use my hobby lights

#

There's a lot of cast shadow and the light maybe looks warm, so I'm curious

#

I really like the little death guy with the tetanus axe. Looks like good work here 👍

Thank you friend! These pics are taken with different setups, both with my main hobby lights at my hobbyspace, and my secondary hobbylights at my computer.
The ones with a white background are taken at my computer with the secondary lights, and Ive noticed that they become kind of yellow/orange in color.
I know the main light has a daylight bulb in it, but I think one of the secondary ones might not and that that could be the reason.

At the hobby space I have access to three lights that I can position around the mini, and I try to place one on each side and the third above. When Im at my computer I only have access to one or two of the lights, depending on how many I bring from my hobbyspace, but I cant bring the best one since its not mine

I also suspect a warm light bulb there. What also helped my own light positioning was putting the lights more "in front of" the model. You have a lot of shadows coming from the side, so maybe try placing the light more from the front, especially with the limited light setup

Sounds good, I just finished an important mini and would really like to have some good pics of it so Ill try putting those tips into practice!

Thanks for your help, friend!

I took some more pictures with the lights a bit more "in front" of the mini, and I think it really helped. I did it at my hobbyspace so I had access to all of the lights as well, so even though it is a chore to bring the bipod I think it might be my best option.

Yeah dude much better. Now if you change the warm light it might help the sepia filter look

#

Even if it's one of 3 lights, I think it makes a lot of influence

Which it's kinda a cool atmospheric, but of you want critique will get in the way
