#Loot & guild castle siege are the soul of GV

old GV never had Guild castles
also it did take away the option to fight in the middle when every castle was just a guild castle
This was my only issue with old guild castles. IMO center map should still be guild castles but allow them to be raided, attacked and tokened outside of SoW timers.
they could take all the holy locations and put them in the middle @barren urchin
MY point of guild castle is the SoW token should be announced after 24 hours. So all the players can be informed and prepare to attend the great war. It is the most interesting thing of GV.
i dont see any reason why we cant have both.
The guild castle is extremely important as the core of a guild; it symbolizes the guild's existence and strength.
only important if it exists in the open world in an "open world mmo"
Cause isle guild SoW limits the attendee number. Probably it would work, but no one knows, since last GV dead before it happened.
i know how guild castle island state of wars were intended to work. what im saying is why cant we have a guild castle on the instanced island then also a couple (or even just one to start) of Guild castles in the centre of the loot zone for open world state of war (like old system).
No more lousy construction labor and PVE task are all good to me.
The old GV was died on that
OLD Gv never had guild castle in the middle
it use to be old goddman nation castles that people would cap when we were sleeping
Leaktown, aud, twin use to have siege events on them
First Guild castle was Skergard that was in late 2019 i think
Then they started nuking nation castles and replacing them with guild castles
Killed middle of the map pretty much
In 2023 as new server launeced, I heard some player asked what they can do after 100lv. Some ppl said they feel boring on flipping flag, which I never heard about this complaint before looting zone constrainted in center....
they disabled guild castles in the open world before they fully released the game
GV devs wanted to keep player on-line, so they bring up the construction works and lot of PVE events, which expedite to kill GV😂
Well i'm saying the guild castles kinda murdered the middle
Same stuff with fast travel system
I joined GV in 2018. Then Sang can TP to OOF castle to back stab ismr/mid in Brandon. So the 3 nations can have fun on one event. However, devs cancel it around 2020, and GV started to be boring.
2019 is when the game had 7 guild castles so maybe it was 2018 when they added skergard.
Whole problem was it tooks the "nation" castles from hte middle and replaced them
nope..i was wrong
Thu, September 28, 2017 is when they added a guild castle

Get ready for intense fights over the Skergard Castle – the very first guild-controlled location placed on top of a breathtaking mountain! Let the battle begin! Fight for honor/ loot. No battle system tuning to please the noobs
-.- people jumped off of keeps because you would lose glory
they didn't care about being looted just glory points
same stuff with the nation points before they added secure/not secure nation points
That is minor. How to make GV be exciting is all we need to talk about
it was early 2018 sker came out. cause i started playing in 2018 and there were 6
thats why i like the new loot zone castles and they shouldnt be replaced by guild castles, because we get more action in middle of the map now
it's because once someone is given something u cant then just take it away from them xD
What I want to say is the 2023 version ( current version) of GV, which closes the servers around half year, will make lots of ppl bored after achieving level up to 100.
Hope the new devs can notice the root cause oif it.
Whats the root cause of it?
Lost soul, and no Gloria no Victis.
I would like to have old SoW back in a way. As kitten says loot-zone castles should be nation castles. I think it is ok that same guild controls them as now and have the flag and emblems and even revenue from crafting. But nation should be able to /home there.
But I do think once a month was too little (with deativation SoW was only possible once a month). I think current system is actually ok but make it a bit harder and definitely impossible during night and perhaps also mornings. Maybe more guards like temples has. Maybe a short term token - 6-8-12 hours... I don't know.
As long as it is for the whole nation and clearly announced some time in advance.
Also I don't see any reason we cannot have both. Guild island SoWs with inter guild "champions league" style ladder/play could be ok also...
Agree. The original designer of GV wants to put all players together. So we can TP to leaktown / OOF/ Twin to join events or siege.
The main point is make all players to interact/ fight/ looting more frequently
Partly,.. I think the main point is 1) The big battles where each nation really have to work together and 2) The missing endgame. SoWs were the pinnacles of PVP. Reason the temples also really matter is that it can change the balance of the nation game for a long time, maybe weeks. The outer ring endless war only feels actually worth it if some castles are much harder to take...
IMO if they would 1) Make the loot-zone guild castles considerably harder to take with a short term token system and nation /home plus they would make twin/leak/oof a bit harder and add access to them from lootzone (nice long bridges) we would be in better place...
Yep, the 3 nations' balance is always a big problem to affect the player peak. The ideal case is the 3 nation have the same strengths and same active on-line. However, when under dog nation appears, ppl in UD nation will change to strong nation to get gold/ resources. Then the PVP game of GV becomes a PVE boring game, and ppl leave. The re-balance cycle may take several months. This is is a critical issue that new devs should think about.
Not totally on topic (the SoWs and castles in centre) but true nonetheless... Designing a good underdog system would be great. Maybe some personal buff/debuff for joining underdog/dominant nation 🤔
Maybe 20g to reward player to change to UD nation will work. Of course, need to limit the amount of transferring.
problem is when a group of vets keep on switching screwing up the balance
The phenomenon happens in all servers, especially in EU, cause it has the largest GV group.
After devs tuned the battle system to be friendly to noobs ( increase the backward speed, enhance 1h weapon damage, and lock the kick direction change after 0.5sec), it will mitigate the domination of vets in battle...
I really don't like these tuning, but it help noobs to be an effected force.
I miss the old guild castles and their better design... specially Skergard, on top of a mountain and OOF which had its own island. Each one felt more unique and special, not just generic castles. Also the old guild castle system gave the player base the long term objective of either taking or defending them, in my server the main guilds all played around politics, amassing armies, finding strategies, all that to achieve the objective of taking or defending one or more of these castles in the long term. The castles in the middle of the map today change hands too easy, people simply don't care to prepare too much around them anymore, it is not worth it.
In general gv lost a lot of uniqueness to fights by trying to make everything even, like old sc old ragi old brandon
they just tried to make every nation castle and donut caslte the same
which made it so boring
ontop of removing loot
every nation must get an equally located stronghold, eco and fort guild castle 🤓
old locations and designswere so much better who cares if sang had it a little closer or further away
no uniqueness just the same slop everywhere
i think adding gc link systems was a bad mistake too
giving a gc across the map extreme meaning to an opposing nation was cool, also added the opportunity to so many more fights
i think the devs always looked in the wrong places to please new players, like looting and events when they could of just focused on improving their first 10 hours on the game theyd actually experience and retain so many more than making everything carebear
you saw how much everyone complained when devs announced another beta - and a lot of it was because NO ONE wanted to go through a starter quest again.
