#Friendly fire and traitor mechanics

What's your plan on traitor mechanics and all of the problems that it caused on GV at 1.0?

It's too early for implementation specifics, you may leave the mechanics as they are but please decide definitely if traitor is supposed to be a viable path/lifestyle/strategy for a character or even an account, or the other way where unprovoked friendly fire equals griefing in every case. Previous devs left the traitor mechanics open to use but vast majority of players who decided to use it had problems with developers later including but not limited to permanent ban.

Please make your stance on this topic as early as possible.

As I recall devs nerfed traitors so bad, that it was just not worth it.

By unprovoked fiendly fire I meant the fact that if someone is already branded a criminal or a traitor, through his actions or /votespy, you do not need to have FF enabled yourself to deal damage to and eventually kill that individual. This leads to a situation where a person who enabled friendly fire virtually always has bad intentions in mind. Why even keep friendly fire option in the first place if that's the case

I know, but why bother with the mechanic at all, then.
I am not even commenting on the debuffs that you were served if you went traitor, but I am commenting the fact that if you chose to persist these debuffs and keep friendly firing people, you were almost always banned eventually. Why even leave it as a path?

I myself was a newbie whose first kill was on my own nation member. There are similarly unaware people out there, and when they start your game and get debuffed, and then banned they are certainly going to leave the game permanently. I'd either explicitly allow traitor in game-rules to protect against ban, or cut out the entire mechanic out of the game.

Maybe gamigo will not ban everyone right and left? I am not saying that I like or dont like traitor mechanic, sometimes you just need to beat someones arse no mater the nations 🤣

Ye but if someone is griefing you /votespy and then you can kill him legally without friendly fire mode

how do we avoid that command to be abused?

#

damn I always wanted to have a bounty system in this game! Would that work together with traitor stuff?

It was automatically making a ticket to the devs with timestamp and location. And the safety clause was "if the person accused is going judged as innocent based on logs, then you as the issuer of /votespy are likely to get banned instead"

plus it took i think 4-5 people in the area to also vote yes, before it took effect

#

But yeah it was an anti griefing tool, with severe consequences for either side

#

Nothing about lighthearted friendly fire. Why even keep it then

#

See how Helldivers 2 embraces friendly fire. It's the damn freshest game of the decade because of this
