The gold Nodes provide Metal the gold ore also smelts into Iron.

Thylas are OP against Stego's since their Bleed damage is based on the max HP of the Dino you're attacking

If point sharing becomes a thing they'll be pointless Day 1, so yesterday my boy killed a dude who just looted a Yellow quality Red ring drop and got a Mastercraft Giga saddle if we had been able to combine our points with a 3rd we would have a Day 1 Max level Giga with OP saddle with all the points divided 60/40 on HP/Melee Stego's are meaningless at that point.
