Ever since the latest update I have been completely unable to enter any text in any form into the game. I can play game fine keyboard works but map select, console and game chat just won't let me type even when copy pasting using mouse it won't input text into console. I am playing on steamOS steam deck which is plugged into a dock which allows for hdmi keyboard and mouse to be plugged in. The onscreen keyboard also will not work. I don't really know how to visually show this so if there is any files you want me to send let me know

idk, maybe someone can look into it but generally it's Valve's job to make sure Steam Decks behave properly with games, not the other way round

I don't mind if it's looked into or not I would probably say it's not worth looking into if it's only a steam deck related issue considering I'm probably like the only person who is playing this game actively on steam deck
But thought I would make a post just in case 🙂

I dunno why something we updated would break Steam Deck input anyway, hopefully some Steam Deck update fixes it

I can verify this happens to me too in the steam deck. Cannot write in either chat nor console, but I can paste with CTRL-V.
This is probably not an isolated steamdeck issue but a problem with the linux client.
I'll hop on PC to try there too when I get back home.

works fine for me on Linux, and afaik none of the other Linux devs have had this issue.

Confirmed. On arch on PC this issue does not occur. It might have to do with the steam input thing. I'll try later on csgo.

Interestingly enough I'm experiencing this issue right now on PC without any changes. Inability to type text comes and goes, but keyboard input works when it comes to moving character.
It also inhibits pressing escape to unpause the game. Alt-tabbing in and out seems to cause and remove the issue, but not in a consistent way.

Yeah ALT will sometimes stick when switching windows. It's a Windows issue as far as I know

ive had this problem on my steam deck which was why i havent been playing mmod as much as ive wanted to. ive found that forcing a proton experimental compatibility layer fixed it for me
