#Bunnyhop (Bhop)

Hi, I'm pretty new to movement based gamemodes on Source engine, so if anyone could drop some actually good guides here or in my dms I'd really appreciate it!
how "new" are you
I pretty much know the basics of bhop, I played a few bhop servers in cs with auto jump (holding spacebar), but never really got into it
well then practice getting in good sync and making your movements smoother, also look at the next platform you wanna land on the second you land on the first one, you can play climb or kz to get better and sync, other than that your just gonna need practice
hope i helped :3
ty for the tips, I'll try it out when steam sends me the invite for this game!
bhop
agreed
Why the heck does my speed go away when I'm bhopping in circles in the practice maps? it doesn't do that normally
I get it's probably to prevent cheese but I can't figure out how to clear these jumps without a run up
My playtesting notes so far, probably repeating lots that's been said before:
- first few lessons are very smooth and fun
- it wasn't clear to me what happened at the end of the stage. I tried to go backwards for a while before realizing that there's nothing more. The fact that left click only brought me half back was confusing before that. I looked in the settings and found the key for resetting there, at which point things made sense. Highlighting that key at the end platform might be useful.
- I wasn't sure whether I was doing things fast enough or not. I think I really would appreciate some benchmark times a-la trackmania there, if it's not already on the list.
- The difficulty spike from fall strafing to basic bhop is quite high, I found it quite hard to both keep momentum and move in a precise direction at once. A step that only requires one of those might be helpful.
- The lessons after basic bhop were significantly easier for me than basic bhop
- The instructions sometimes covered up the speed meter, which I was watching pretty intently to see if I'd messed up
- The playground is very fun and helpful, I enjoyed returning to it after lessons with my new skills
for the surf section in the bhop learn i would lower the floor or extend the slide trigger. Stupid me didnt understand i had to hold jump to bhop and keep speed.
tiniest bit late, but it might be due to you turning to sharply, as sharp turns decrease speed, you gotta make sure to have really fluid smooth mouse movement (and synced strafe keys)
even with a bind like +left
the faster you get the slower you have to move your mouse to lose speed, if that makes sense?
a better way of saying it is the faster you go the easier it is to lose speed
funni pfp
hello, could anybody recommend me some half decent maps for a beginner (t1-2)? Is there any zoned archive for maps or do i need to zone start and end myself?
I enjoyed everfast but the jump to t2 is kinda rough with the limited selection of maps available rn
I am experienced in surf but new to bhop :)
I think this is the wrong channel, will ask in general bhop instead :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ES1srXu1BEs this should be in the learn section, very important mechanics for bhop

The Bhop "Air Strafing" tutorial level seems like it's just a superior version of the "Strafe the Distance" level in the Surf tutorials. "Air Strafing" has volumes that turn red and buzz if you go too far to either side and it conveys the concept way better.
Anyone know how the speed bonus for bhopping off a surface sloped in the direction you are moving is calculated?
Strafe the Distance is confusing in general i see a ramp I cant get past and dont know what to do
Sections need an indicator to when i've successfully finished a map
learning section is not being worked on right now
What am I supposed to do in Strafe the distance
Ill join in 30 mins not home
