Last nights survey made me think a lot about the game and I would like to pose the following suggestion: **To announce or make clear in some way what the next featured region in the rotation system will be. **

Based on the premise that you can stack quests and turn them in later, when the region rewards change- this will effectively double the amount of content players can engage with and still get the same mental reward as if it was part of the rotation even though it is not, because you can do it now and cash it in next week instead. It also greatly increases the chances of players being able to play quests they enjoy (as there are more to chose from) without feeling like they are throwing away coin or currency by doing so.
For newer players who find that this weeks legendary chain is impossible it allows them to go to the next region and do the preliminary quests ahead of time, keeping them engaged with content still.

*Example:This weeks featured region for legendary quests is Rome. This region might be too hard for me to solo or if I don't like these quests for whatever reason then I can see that next rotation it will be Londinium- I can then chose to do the Londinium quests instead knowing I can turn them in for higher rewards as soon as the region changes. *

A system like this sets players up for a more dynamic playstyle when they engage with the rotation system as there are multiple ways to go about it depending on your style and interests. I cannot personally think of any playstyle that would not benefit from this system say perhaps the pressed for time completionist, every other player would not only double the size of their designated playpen but also be able to 2x the amount of engagement if they so choose.
Advantages of this would be to effectively increase enjoyable, rewarding content. Some instant gratification, some delayed gratification. Players who play a lot can then vary by stacking next weeks rotation in between the grind. Players who do not play so much can pick and chose a bit more and perhaps opt out on some of this weeks 5*'s in favor of next weeks 3*s etcetera.
A downside could be that it initially disrupts how players routinely log in and interact with the game, but if one logs on and sees that next week is some quests that are totally uninteresting then there is still an incentive to log on in that timeframe to check what is the week after again and potentially get started on that. The long term attention span would be pushed forward 1 week, but hopefully the short term player engagement would be multiplied by the exponential effect increasing the web to such an extent would have.
A potential downside could be that players are less herded and less consistent because they might be mixing and matching a lot more, especially if there is foresight in all 3 (4) categories, however as the game is not monetized and largely kept alive by die hard fans it shouldn't matter what quests players chose to play as long as they are happy and engaged. The potential for players being able to play a quest they really like without having to opt out of rewards effectively doubles.

It involves no effort save draw one more region ahead of time and announce the next featured region.

This is one of those ideas that could be very useful for some and a drawback for others. I'd like it implemented as I also dont always want to do certain regions, or more than a couple quests in them, whereas some I like to do most of them. So, knowing in advance, i could stack up without wondering if I'll ever get the chance to turn them in lol. The downside to this, is that for people who like instant gratification, they will not stack and might just sit out for a week and wait. Rather than check in and play. Its a mixed bag i think. Perhaps a toggle option to show it? lol

Don't like it.
The whole point of the region bonuses is to allow people to do quests they don't normally do

#

This specifically will ruin the whole thing. It is meant to help motivate us to ask to coop

#

You mentioned you sometimes cannot solo. This is a coop game and not a solo game. If you cannot solo, nobody will punish you for asking for help

“Based on the premise that you can stack quests and turn them in later”

Not your fault for being unaware of this but the premise here is a little flawed because this kind of behavior is somewhat frowned upon by the devs. A healthy co-op environment necessitates the community not min-maxing en masse else matches become difficult to find. While I appreciate the effort to make things more efficient (and in a non abusing context this would be helpful for busy players) I don’t see them emboldening this strategy.

Love the title! CH_Thanks

It's generally very hard to find coop games, I only have my own reference for EU times mid week but a lot of the time I literally do not have the option to coop what so ever. I acknowledge the potential impact it might have on coop, perhaps for EU players coop just isnt as thriving.

#

I guess this ultimately comes down to wether the rotation system is designed to alter player behavior or to reward players for engaging with the game.

Still what we like and do not like and what I need and do not need shouldnt be setting the tone for what players may or may not do or how they play the game per se.

#

is it facilitating better, more rewarding, more engaging play overall or is it detrimental to the community because it implodes coop etcetera. More interesting angle.

I think this would be both. There are a lot of quest hoarders out there. But there’s also many who don’t even follow the rotations.

I don’t think the upside outweighs the downside unfortunately.

I'm in a similar boat to Katt on this as I tend to do the 1-3 star legs or 1-2 star elites in a given pack when they're on rotation, then move on to doing other simple elite/leg off rotation or back to quest progression or pvp. But I can see the heavys and steaks of the community (no offence to them in particular, just easy examples) getting the entirety of "next week's" rotation done a week in advance and banking all 7+ quests up at once to turn in 5 minutes into the fresh rotation
