Borderless Window full breaks the game.

Anytime, since I have turned the game on after opening it on full screen borderless, it will proceed to take up.Both of my monitors and refused to let me alt tab scroll off or otherwise access my system.I will have to manually power down my computer.In order to get it to close. A temporary solution for this is opening app your settings. Preemptively having them on top of the running game or on top of or prioritize tab for it. Changing the resolution of the machine to an inaccurate one, and playing at a smaller screen space. What's truth be told is an absolutely awful solution.

It also refuses to save the change of switching back to any other screen options weather it be through the game or with the nvida app

a better temporary fix is to edit renderer_settings.xml
to do this:

windows + r
%localappdata%\PAYDAY 2
enter the file
at the bottom, set resolution to monitor resolution
windowed = true
borderless = true

I see that very clearly what I am telling you is I can't change it. I open the game I can't acess any of those other windows

Try opening it with notepad, right click, open with then click notepad if its there or browse apps then notepad

yeah edit with notepad or notepad++ because edge doesnt let u edit it

Launched the game a black screen popped up and then it closed with no error message.

Do you have your monitor set to a resolution thats lower then its maximum?

i had the same issue as this guy and i did have it below maximum

had the same issue myself and i did not have it set below maximum. didn't stop the game from trying to set me to 4k and getting this bug though. fixed it with a verified files and changing the xml like above posted

yea we just ask windows to give us all the resolutions and set the largest. we're gonna add checks to limit it to the current max res

No, but opening my settings, tab and having it in a prioritized window.So it will always be on top.And setting it to a lower resolution granted will apply a lot of black empty space to said scream.But can cause a fix to the issue temporarily it still wont save the change of going back to fullscreen or windowed

I uninstalled and am over it at this point, I still have my 360 with a perfectly function version of the game.
