If it came down to it yes, bc there’s nothing the team can do about the current CBA unless they want to accept a mediocre trade haul. Even if they were willing to accept that, it’s still quite difficult. A lot of teams don’t want that huge of a salary added to their team and all of the restrictions that come with it. So the only solution is here is time, to an extent… bc it will be easier to do in the off-season. Even then, what if a contender doesn’t want to take the risk? If G would prefer to sit out until the exact right circumstances come about, I suppose that’s his right. I just don’t know if it will make anything happen on his preferred timeline
